Hi Annie,
You can ask anything you want, I don't mind repeating. I'm going to
give a little more background so that you have a better perspective.
I've always(the last 20 yrs.) tried to be aware of eating
"right"...though not always successful, I try to eat organic foods, and
I'm not a meat eater, in general, mainly because I just don't like meat
all that much, but the meat I do eat, I buy hormone free. I take some
supplements, but kind of haphazardly-I'm not faithful in taking
them(I've recently added flax oil to my diet). I'm faithful in my
Chiropractic treatments. And I'm physically fit-a black belt in Tae
Kwon Do (5'5', 128 lbs). In March of this year, I read about the health
hazards of parasites, and thought I'd try the program I posted earlier
about. Shortly after beginning this bowel cleansing program I began to
have regular gallbladder attacks. I now suspect that the herbs in the
bowel cleansing program may have stimulated my liver to try to cleanse
or rid itself of stones (this could possibly be happening to you too
because of the cleansing products you're using-but of course, I'm only
guessing). However, I did not associate the pain I was having, with my
gallbladder. I just thought that something I ate, did not sit well
with me, and suspected that maybe I was developing an ulcer, because I
was under a lot of stress at the time. I started taking enzymes to aid
digestion, but this did not help. The attacks became increasingly more
severe and frequent until I could know longer ignore the pain, and
ended up in the emergency room (on my 22nd wedding aniversary!).
It took me six months to realize that it was my gallbladder, because
I'm opposed to going to medical doctors, in general. I hadn't been to
an MD in probably 18 yrs.-I'd never "needed" one before, so I didn't
think I needed one now-I've rarely been sick more than a 24 hr cold/flu
(my children were born at home with lay midwives--I should have asked
them about the pain I was having! I don't have an OBGYN!) and I
personally, was not searching in the right places to find the answers I
needed that could have helped me.
I do fit into a couple categories for people who have gallbladder
problems. I'm a 44yr.old female, GB stones run in my family, and I've
been pregnant 4 times. During the last pregnancy, 9 years ago, I had my
first GB attacks (of course I was clueless at the time as to what was
happening).
I've continued with the Nature's Medicine program, minus the parasite
cleanse...which is only done once a year to maintain.
I follow the Clark cleanse to the letter. I never fast. I've been
recently drinking organic apple juice on a daily basis, but not more
than a glass a day. I am eating more apples though, and plenty of fresh
greens. The day of the cleanse, I eat an organic almost fat-free corn
flake type cereal with nonfat soy milk (someone just told me they read
soy isn't as good for you as previously thought-don't know, but I like
soy milk). Have fruit about hour later. Lunch is a salad(varied
vegetables and greens), with fat-free dressing. Also, I have fat-free
yogurt. Apple juice too some time before 2pm. I have to confess I
like coffee...so, I do drink a cup in the morning, black. Also, I drink
plenty of water...we have a reverse osmosis unit at the house(I think
that's what it's called.)
I was a little concerned that the parasite cleanse I did was too long
ago, but I did the liver cleanse anyway, and seemed to be fine that
way. Also, I used organic olive oil, which my stomach handled better
than the non-organic olive oil I used with the first cleanse. I will
say that since I've been reading this website, and Dr. Clark's book,
I've been more aware of the kinds of foods I buy, and reduced my sugar
intake even more (I have somewhat of a sweet tooth, although I don't
binge, I don't deprive myself either-I'm trying to do better in that
area. As a result of doing that though, I'm enjoying my fruit more.)
If you can hang in there with the parasite cleanse, you're probably
going to be more successful with the liver cleanse this time around.
I'm not an authority though....maybe someone more knowledgable can
comment.
Well, I debated whether or not to send this email to your personal
address because this is quite long...but I figured I'd send this for
everyone to read if they're interested. Thanks for writing too, it's
always helpful to know what others have experienced.
Adrienne

Subject: Re: [gallstones]P.S. Adrienne's 4th cleanse-Wow! - questions
Hi all,
I woke up this morning after writing that long e-mail last night, and
suddenly realized that there was something else that coincided with the
onset of my gallbladder attacks back in March. The bowel cleansing
program instructions insisted that you drink at least 8 glasses of
water a day! So, along with the bowel/parasite cleanse, I guess it
could have been the extra water I was drinking that started me down
this road! These were really the only two major changes I'd made in my
diet (although I'm eating better, post-surgery). What do you think
Agnes or Dale? I guess the article Agnes posted helped me make this
possible connection.
