After 1 1/2 years of being part of this group and suffering over 7
attacks... I done an exhaustive search in an effort to cure my gb
problems without surgury. I had initial success with the flushes,
but six months later I had additional symptoms and attacks.
I believe that through this group and extensive research on the
internet... and yes, God's grace... I may be completely cured of my
gb problems.
For those of you who co0ntinue to suffer... I belive it is important
to first identify if you have calcium stones or cholestorol stones.
Most of us have cholestorol stones that often do not show up on the
ultrasound, but hurt like the dickens! More than 80% of all stones
are cholestorol stones.
I do not have the cure for calcium stones, but perhaps breakstone tea
helps... For cholestorol stones I am convinced that three things
will significantly cure you and it is NOT avoiding certain "alergic"
foods. I too had many foods that were taken off my list when I
suffered gb problems. Pasta, tomatoes, chocolate, etc. caused
significant indigestion. Now I eat everything... except dairy with
NO problems...
The cure... I said it before... but now more convinced...
Granulated LECITHIN. For the past 5 months I have been taking a
tablespoon of granulated Lecithin each morning in an ounce of oj and
some flax seed oil. I feel terrific, lots of energy and am regular
again. Most of all... there is NO gnawing discomfort or pain in the
gb or middle back area like before. Again... I eat whatever I want
except milk and icecream, with very little cheese.
My reasearch indicates that cholestorol stones build up in both the
gb and the liver caused by clumping cholestorol around calcium
specs. The way to cure the problem is to get rid of the calcium
specs by avoiding dairy and taking lecithin that will give you the
Choline and other chemicals needed to smooth out the bile.
Do a simple search of Lecithin on the internet and especially in the
Medical school sites and you will find that research has shown:
Lecithin has cure gb and fatty liver problems in both humans and
research animals. Most reknown alternative med doctors list Lecithin
as a #1 approach to curing the problem.
The following is just a little bit of some information on the
subject. Perhaps I will change my tune with another attack... but
right now... I feel cured!
I hate to hear that someone is going into surgery BEFORE they have
tried flaxseed oil and Lecithin to cure their prolems. Type in
Lecithin Fatty Liver into your search engine and you will find a
wealth of knowledge and the possible cure to your health problems.

Supplemental choline (in the form of lecithin) has reversed fatty
liver in TPN patients.60 In the study patients had been treated for
an average of 7 years with TPN solutions providing 17 kJ/kg BW/d (4
kcal/kg/d) as 20% Intralipid (delivering approximately 6 mg/kg BW/d
[50 µmoles/kg/d] of choline as phosphatidylcholine).60
These patients had low plasma choline concentrations (average 6.3
µmoles/L). In a double-blind protocol, 20 g commercial lecithin (30%
phosphatidylcholine, delivering approximately 36 mg choline/kg BW/d
[300 µmoles choline/kg/d]) or placebo (soybean oil) was administered
twice a day for 6 weeks. By the end of this experimental period,
plasma choline had risen by more than 50% in the lecithin group, and
decreased by 25% in the placebo group.
Fatty liver was assessed through computerized tomography. In the
lecithin group, liver density increased (fat decreased) by
approximately 30% (p<0.05). In the placebo group liver density
increased by only 8% (nonsignificant). This strongly suggests choline
is an essential nutrient during long-term TPN.
Supplemental choline, in the form of lecithin, has reversed fatty
liver in patients receiving total parenteral nutrition (TPN). 60
Research by Lieber and colleagues suggests lecithin may also protect
the liver independently of providing choline. In two studies baboons
were fed diets high in alcohol with or without added lecithin for up
to 8 years. About 80% of those not provided supplemental lecithin
developed liver fibrosis or cirrhosis, characterized by collagen
accumulation, fibrosis, and scarring. However, no animals fed
lecithin developed fibrosis or cirrhosis.61,62 An earlier study
showed choline did not provide this protective effect.63 In vitro
studies showed lecithin increased the activity of hepatic
collagenase, suggesting lecithin helps prevent alcohol-induced
fibrosis and cirrhosis, partly by promoting collagen breakdown.62
In an editorial on diet and liver disease, Dr. Graeme Macdonald and
Dr. Michael Lucey, from the University of Michigan Medical Center in
Ann Arbor stated, "Perhaps the most exciting demonstration that diet
may have a beneficial effect in protecting against liver injury has
come from Lieber et al, who reported recently that long-term
supplementation with phosphatidylcholine protected
baboons...chronically fed alcohol from developing liver fibrosis and
cirrhosis."64 Lieber's group is currently conducting a multicenter
clinical trial of lecithin supplements in alcoholic patients.
