This group welcomes anyone in Indiana who is the parent of a child or adult with Down syndrome. The group is sponsored by Down Syndrome Indiana (DSI). Members can ask questions of other parents and share experiences. The manager also sends news of upcoming events for people with Down syndrome and their families. You must contact the moderator or another IDSF parent personally to join. (This helps prevent inappropriate emails from illegitimate members with agendas.)

While we welcome all expressions of concern, joy about one's one child, sharing of information about programs or news that applies to kids with Down syndrome, or expressions of help or encouragement for other children, there are certain emails that are not allowed:
- expressions of one-sided political opinion, endorsement or bashing (however, notifying list objectively of pending legislation coming up for vote that could affect people with disabilities is permitted)
- promoting a particular religious point of view (it's ok to ask for prayers or mention you're thanking God, for example, but it's not okay to advise others to pray, rely on God, join a particular church, etc.)
- "flaming," which includes criticism of other members' ideas or statements and other inflammatory posts
- promotion of unrelated items or services for sale (home sales businesses, school fundraisers, etc.)
