Kim,
My son is doing My Sensory Solutions now after stopping Dore and the changes are interesting and exciting. The biggest is the fact that he can run normally now, instead of looking so awkward. It happened over a period of about two weeks and was incredible to watch. He reads smoother and can add numbers in his head now which I've never seen him do before. He can also actually stand on one leg without falling over too, something he couldn't do after 22 months on Dore. My daughter is doing MSS too just for grins and she was a great reader before but too slow and progressed up 10 levels in three months in first grade and is now the top reader in her class. Her reading speed has improved dramatically after listening, it just took a little longer because she didn't have as many issues as my son.
We incorporate the music into our day, just like we did Dore and it's easy, as long as I stay organized on what we are listening to each day and this is the key. I really enjoy the music and listen to the maximum allowed each day as it invigorates me and helps me focus on a project better. The kids listen while playing outside or messing around inside or a lot of the times in the car going to some practice or another. They don't object too much, much less than doing Dore every day, especially when they see the changes happening.
I really believe it is closing the gap between Dore and the problems that still existed after Dore. I'm coming to terms with the fact that even after everything we've done, my son will always be Dyslexic and some Dyspraxic, but we had to do everything we could to improve the symptoms and improve his life. We feel that we have done that with both Dore and MSS, one just wouldn't have done it without the other.
Whatever you decide is right for your child is right and in this economy, we have to be careful of all the "miracle programs" out there. To be honest, I was skeptical of MSS too, but after praying about it, doing research and a lot of talking to Rebecca and Olga, I was convinced this would work. It's been worth every penny and I intend to keep doing it until Rebecca says STOP! because I know the changes will keep coming.
God Bless and good luck!
