Rewarding the MVPs of the Business [and Health Care] World
by Elan Journo (February 6, 2005)
Summary:
..."To successfully steer a corporation across the span of years by
integrating its strengths for the purpose of creating wealth, [or
successfully diagnose and manage life-threatening illnesses] requires
from the CEO [or doctor] exceptional thought and judgment.
Excellent CEOs [and doctors] are as rare as NFL-caliber quarterbacks.
And in the business [or medical] world, every day is the Super Bowl.
There is no off-season or respite from the need to perform at one's
peak....
Like quarterbacks who reach the Super Bowl, successful CEOs [and
doctors] are indispensable to their companies [..health care and the
lives of individual patients... ] and deserve their high salaries.
