I have used mode 1, when I can't get it to stop alarming because I have added to much sea salt  & don't have room in the tub to add more water.  If it doesn't stop alarming in mode 1, then I have to start over with fresh water.  I have done it with myself & with clients, it really didn't make a difference as far as I could tell.  The water was still gross.

... Hi Jack... mode 3.... that is 70% + and 30%- and most machines are set to default on 3. Does any one ever use any different modes other than 3? Karen ...
