interesting article

Hi All,  I read an interesting article the other day that got me thinking,  it is about the disease called Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (pronounced Lim-fan-gio-lio-mio-matosis)  I know that it is not the same as DD,  it certainly is interesting.
It is an Orphan disease (NORD)
Mainly affects women
Is quite 'rare'.
Large cell growth
Can't be seen on X.ray
Could be reading about us so far hey!

It is a disease that strikes the inside of the lungs usually, but can cause the large 'smooth muscle cell' growth in the abdomen. Appariently it is triggered by Oestrogen levels going out of whack. There is an interesting site  LAM Australia (www.lam.org.au ) it is a support group like ours.  Please read the information on it especially the reseach part and about the drug Rapamycin. Am I losing my marbles or does it only excite me!!!!!  :-p
Enough from me
regards Teddy
