?????? ...... the costs I have asked for? .... are quite direct and
specific. A treatment plan ? .... I want full dentures?

My neglect ? ..... where is that coming from ? .... I have not
neglected my teeth. Some of the past dental work that I have had done
is quite simply falling-apart. Do I expect an IMMEDIATE solution and
that dentures be as good or better than "real" teeth ? Of course
not.

The questions below still stand.

Sounds like you are, I "cut my teeth" working at Affordable
Dentures, and I have to say it is the best bargain out there. There
is a big step up in quality from the economy to the custom teeth.
The extra use you get out of the customs will probably be worth it.
BTW, why are you getting the rest extractor at 2 different times? If
it is due to money, I understand. But if it were me I would just
get the last 5 out at the same time, get it over with.

Exactly, expecting me to pin down an exact cost and treatment plan
for you without knowing anything about your situtaion is
unrealistic. It would be like you selling a used car to me, without
me knowing anything about it either. Not trying to be antagonistic,
but your attitude is exactly why most Dentists hate dealing with
dentures. It has taken years/decades of neglect for your teeth to
get into the condition they are in, and you want them to be replaced
immediately and with no problems. Just trying to give you a sense
of what Dentist are going through, for some perspective.

I have had all by 5 teeth extracted over the last 20 years. I am
having the remaining 5 pulled next week, 2 on Monday, and the last 3
on Wednesday. They all are back teeth. I work in a low income job,
and am sole support for my family...hence, I don't have a lot of
extra money in the bank. I Do really want dentures, and my mother
is raising money from my brother's and sisters to help me get
dentures. She has raised almost $700.00. My dentist charges
$1800.00, and won't budge off that price. The dental school I
contacted charges $1,000.00 (ALL out of our price range) -- then we
saw the AffordableDenture.com site, and for the cheapest pair, they
charge about $400.00 for the economy denture, $600.00 for the Custom
Denture, and about $800.00 for the Premium denture. With all that
said..... If I opt for the custom denture (not the package deal),
do you think I would be doing the right thing. Opting our of the
economy "package" deal, and going for better teeth in the Custom
Denture? Since most of my gums have long since healed, except for
the last five extractions, DO you think I would be doing the right
thing regarding the better denture for the long term? Do you have
any other information that might help me make my decision? I would
appreciate you response. Thank you.

For you members who
still have some teeth
and for your family,
I highly recommend
using a water pick
device after meals to
maintain healthy gum
areas around teeth.
I lost my upper teeth
to periodontal
disease 6 years ago,
but I have kept my
lower teeth/gum in
excellent health by
using the water pick
device. The brand I
use is INTERPLAK
model WJ6R. For

Costs vary greatly. Most Affordable Dentures are very good, thats
where I started. Significantly lower than most gen dentists. I
would be hesitant in going to any old gen dentist, most dentists
hate doing dentures-no one is ever satisfied with their dentures.
Implants-the only draw back to implants is their cost. They make a
night and day difference. If your dentures are newer, the bite is
correct, and you like the way they look, there is a good chance you
can attach you old dentures to implants. But it never hurts to make
a new one to attach implants to.

If I were you .....I would RUN from this dentist ! ... it sounds like
to me that he is just stringing-you-along. From what I know -
implants are alot stronger than teeth that a capped and ESPECIALLY
teeth that have root canals done to them.

WHAT is with all these dentists WANTING to do root-canals ? ....
SEEMS to me that all this is just a HUGE money-maker to them.

OVER seven-thousand-dollars ??....!! .... is absolutely crazy !! ....
IMO. Again - from what I know of this(and I am learning more each
day) - GOOD uppers and lowers should be about 1000$ each. 15
eaxtractions should be about 80$ each......and SHOULD be less - done
in "bulk" ......

WHERE are the other costs coming from? ..... Eric

SandyHI, I'm sandy and I am in the process of getting some dentures. I

Ok this it the real question. The 2 only good teeth left in my head

One thing that bothers me is when I do take out the upper dentures

how find disturbing ( In looks and maybe hurt when I sleep without
the uppers in.
Plus who said they would last? Maybe dump 2500.00 for 2 teeth just
to loose them???
I told him I wanted implants to hold lower dentures in at the
beginning at our talks and he said lets wait and see how well you do
with the dentures then if I NEED the implants we can do that.
So what is the difference in my own 2 teeth that are a risk and
waiting to get the implant post at a later date?
I'm confused and thought I would put this to you all who have been
that and done that or wish you had.
I feel really sick trying to figure this out on my own, and hope I
don't want the lower dentures from the beginning- just because it
would be cheaper. "Sigh"

Plus the cost for 15 extractions and TOP OF THE LINE full upper
denture and TOP OF THE LINE lower partial (plus flipper for 6 weeks)
and 2 crowns with built up post.
$7100.00 Good deal??

HI, I'm sandy and I am in the process of getting some dentures. I
went for a consultation today and was given the option of keeping to
bottom teeth to use for anchoring full Partials -2 teeth...lol
Ok this it the real question. The 2 only good teeth left in my head
that he wants to use are the only ones that have not had a Root
canal (YET) but they will need to be crowned b4 use.
One thing that bothers me is when I do take out the upper dentures
and the lower partials I will be left with only 2 canines. I some
how find disturbing ( In looks and maybe hurt when I sleep without
the uppers in.
Plus who said they would last? Maybe dump 2500.00 for 2 teeth just

The dentist used the wrong word .... the proper word is
UNprofitable ! .... so it is UNethical for him to follow the request
of the patient (his boss! - YOU ??..!!) ...... move QUICKLY away from
him - he is the UNethical and DIShonest one.
