Eric, I went to a place called Affordable dentrures. They are sort of a chain
and they make the dentures on site. they charge per tooth for he extractions and
all their other prices are on thier web site. They have three levels of dentures
I got what were labeled as the best. A ful set of premium dentures cost 775.00.
I have looked into implants that hold the dentures in place and may do that
eventually but for right now I am pretty happen with just the dentures. They do
the implants at the affordable dentures place where I went so if I decide to go
that way I will do that there.
Anyway you can check out there website. I am not sure what others have done
but mine worked out fine.

Elizabeth or anyone else ...... what are ALL the ball-park costs
involved in this ? ...... have any of you guys investigated putting
in implants to hook these dentures to? I have posed these Q's before
and I don't think that they have been answered. .... Eric

at the same time? Let me tell you how it worked for me. I am 44
years old but after not having good dental care as a child my teeth
as an adult were a wreck. I work in a professional environment and I
wanted to have a nice smile. So I decided to take they plunge and get
them pulled out and dentures put in. I went in November of 2005 and
had around 22 teeth pulled at the same time. It was not painful they
had me pretty numb but it was not pleasant either. Anyway I had
temporary dentures put in place the same day and they sent me home
for the healing process. (6 months) during this time people go back
and have their temporary dentures adjusted for fit, etc. I just used
adhesive and stuck it out. The temporary dentures do not fit well
because your gums are healing and it takes a while. I was almost
worrying if I did the right thing when I had the temporary dentures
in. But I will have to tell you the day
> I got my permanent dentures was a really good day. They fit so so
much better. I went back in for the permenent ones at my 6 month
mark and things have been great since then. I can eat almost anything
I want. I tend to still use a little bit of denture adhesive because
I don't like them to move at all. I don't think anyone here at my new
office knows that these are not my real teeth. I think they all
think I just have nice teeth which is just awesome. So when you get
over the adjustment you won't even have to tell people you have them
and they won't be able to tell by looking at you. So don't get to
down. It does take time to get used to dentures but there are days
now when I even forget that they are there. They are a part of me
now.
