I am sitting here writing this with jaw pain. 8 days ago, my
Periodontist removed 2 titanium implants that were placed a year ago.
Apparantly, they were a 'cheap' unreliable brand that has caused many
failures. (my only implants) During the year I was put on antibiotics
about 5 times for infection.
I am 66 and I am getting very weary of dental office visits, pain, and
expenses.
I have many, many, dental chair hours logged and most of my teeth have
been capped, several twice. Root canals, periodontal surgery, you
name it, I've had it.
EVERONE says, "Keep 'em." I am not sure what is best for me.
I would like to hear from the folks who have had dentures for more
than a few months and who would kindly state their satisfaction or
lack thereof.
I am especially interested in hearing from those with both implants
and dentures.
I will have one upper and one lower implant on my right side. If I
have the same on my left side, would that be sufficient for implant
attachment anchors?
It will take about 6 months for my bone grafts to 'take' and I want to
make up my mind before that on what my next dental procedure shall be.
Thanks in advance,
BoyntonStu
