Linda, the upper denture is much easier to learn to wear than a
lower is. You will get used to it pretty quickly, the key to it is
to wear the thing even when it hurts. Keep in touch with the dentist-
live at his office until you are satisfied. You've worn a partial
even for a brief period so you know what it feels like to have
something removable in your mouth. The full upper probably won't
feel much different and eating with it in the early days is like
trying to chew with a snow shovel in your mouth. If you are on good
terms with your mom- ask to examine her denture and her mouth both
with the denture in and out- know what all the pieces and parts look
like. Another thing you might ask the dentist is if he can put you
in touch with another patient around your age who has already gotten
their denture or dentures. It helps to talk face to face with
someone who has been there.
