hello, I was in a similar situation about two months ago and now have top and
bottom dentures.
I had an oral surgeon who is also able to sedate his patients just sedate me and
extract my teeth..including a few that had broken off down to roots. I had
stitches that were taken out about two weeks later.
I don't know if it cost more to extract from the gumline..I think it was all the
same...expensive!
good luck to you.

HI~ I am in need of having the rest of my teeth pulled and getting
dentures. I currently have 7 upper teeth and 6 lower. However, most
of the missing teeth have broken off, so the root remain. How are
those removed? I suppose they will actually have to cut my gums open
and remove them surgically. Does this cost more than just pulling
teeth, and can you be fitted for dentures afterwards, or is the
healing process longer. I am not looking foward to this. I am only
43 years old. I've been on alot of strong medications for the last 4
years or so, and some of those have accounted for the teeth starting
to break off. I've never had perfect teeth, but within a matter of
months I went from having all my teeth to having half of them broken,
and it's been rapidly downhill since. It's really disgusting because
the ones that are left are so decayed they look worse than having
none at all. Anyway, if anyone has any answers please let me know.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Also, I don't know how to come
up with the money for all of this, any estimation on how much we are
talking about here? Thanks!
