Sorry to hear that you have these problems.
This sounds like a bad job by the technician who made the dentures.
1. The gum area should not be like you said it should be able to
extend it so that the lip hides the top part of the gum area.
2. That your back teeth do not meet the dentist should have corrected
that the day you got them fitted. At least he/she must do it the next
time you have an appointment. This is standard procedure.
I have not had partials as I had all my teeth removed but the
principal is the same.
Hope you will be all right. There should be no reason for not feeling
good having a partial. Some time to get used to it you must calculate
with.
