The reason (at this point) that your face looks lifted and you look like you
had botox around your mouth is swelling.....when the swelling goes down...I
just want to forewarn you that anyone without teeth....you lose bone after
time......I am unsure of the amount of time.....but this is normal....I was
told that it takes at minimum four months for all of the swelling to go
down....

Subject: [Denture_Dentures] Day 14 :)
Hi :)
New here and 14 days new to a top denture ! Bottom partial coming in about 2
weeks.
My experience has been pretty positive with the only drawback is the in
ability to eat ! I'm getting crabby lol
I'm 46, had 13 (all) top teeth removed, immediate temp denture, all but 5
bottom teeth are coming out for a partial. I'm most leary of the partial
than I was of the denture :/
Appearance wise, the temp denture is reall nicely made, but I have found as
the swelling goes down,my smile is changing and the teeth seem too short, I
have yet to talk to my dentist about some concerns when they make the perm
denture but will sit him down and show him before and after photos because
the upper lip is so much fuller now with the denture that it barely shows
any teeth when I smile and therefore promoting more of a "false" teeth look
:(
I've read some post on here,as for the younger people, concerns about looking
"aged" NOT AT ALL ! I think it actually gave my face a bit of lift and have
had several people say I look "rested" and one woman ask if I had botox LMAO
done around my mouth !!! I said nope, just a new shade of lipstick ;))
Any one with questions about it all, how to deal with the changes,
acceptance, getting thru it all, boyfriend, girlfriend questions (cause I
know I had qestions) feel free to email me. I had a lot of concerns with the
new realtionship I'm in and had no one to ask or talk to about personal
questions and I think it would help for some people to question /express
that whole issue also, especially the younger group members.
I'm glad I stopped and took some time to find this group, it helped reading
some comments, etc., and also helped me to relaize that when my dentist says
be patience, this or that will happen, etc, to trust that he knows what he's
talking about :)
