Hi..my name is Christine and I'm 34. I have very bad teeth.
Misaligned, crooked, overbite. I've dealt with this all my life and
was very ashamed to smile and if affected my self confidence. I'm
still struggling as the last 5 years my bottom teeth have shifted and
become very crooked to the point where one of my very front bottom
teet protrudes almost straight forward. I had not been able to visit
a dentist regularly due to finances. Although I do brush twice a day,
floss and keep up with oral hygiene. I've had fillings in the past as
a teen.
Just about a year ago I went to a dentist to see about getting some
work done to correct my problems, hoping to get braces. Unfortunately
it seems I am having bone deteriation on my lower teeth. Which is
causing the shifting. And braces will be a decision not worthwhile.
So I stopped seeing the dentist as he wanted $4000 to continue. I
can't afford it.
My uppers are straighter than my lowers now, which used to be the
opposite, but still unsightly to me.
I'm considering dentures the next year, and am very scared and
nervous about them.
My questions are....when I get my teeth pulled, do I get dentures the
same day. I don't want to be walking around with gums..LOL How
expensive are they? Do they have different types and prices? Do they
have dentures which look normal and not so fake (I've seen a lot of
those around). I've been reading some posts here and am seeing some
stuff I never knew about..what is Immediates, relined???
Thanks for any help.
Future denture wearer.
Christine
