I dont know about the luck part of this, but it's a great strory.

His name was Fleming, and he was a poor Scottish farmer. One day, while
trying to make a living for his family, he heard a cry for help coming from a
nearby? bog. He dropped his tools ?and ran to the bog.
There, mired to his waist in black muck, was a terrified boy, screaming and
struggling to free himself. Farmer Fleming saved the lad from what could have
been a slow and terrifying death.

The next day, a fancy carriage pulled up to the Scotsman's sparse
surroundings. An elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and introduced himself
as the father of the boy Farmer Fleming had saved.

"I want to repay you," said the nobleman. "You saved my son's life."
"No, I can't accept payment for what I did," the Scottish farmer replied
waving off the offer. At that moment, the farmer's own son came to the door of
the family hovel.

"Is that your son?" the nobleman asked.
   </F!           ONT>
   "Yes," the farmer replied proudly.

"I'll make you a deal. Let me provide him with the level of education my own
son will enjoy. If the lad is anything like his father, he'll no doubt grow to
be a man we both will be proud of." And that he did.

Farmer Fleming's son attended the very best schools and in time, graduated
from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London, and went on to become known
throughout the world as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of
Penicillin.

Years afterward, the same nobleman's son who was saved from the bog was
stricken with pneumonia.

What saved his life this time? Penicillin.

The name of the nobleman? Lord Randolph Churchill. His son's name?

good luck!!!

I want this back. It DOES work.

Ohhh no wonder. Sunday nite, I actually was up at 11am, Sydney was having
difficulty breathing, called my mom to meet me to got to ER, but she started
turning blue and shaking, had to call 911, ambulance took her to Parkview
ER, she had vomited a total of 10times, and was badly dehydrated, pumped
some fluids in her and stayed overnite, she is now okay. They think it is
not her heart, but that the mucus stuck in her airway and blocked it,
causing her to turn blue, once she was able to get it out, her airway became
clear and could breath fine. What a scare!!! It was also my first daughter,
Courtney's 7th bday in Heaven, so what a day/nite. She is just her regular
cheery self today!!! We hadn't needed to go to ER since last December, guess
she just wanted to reshow us how precious life really is. Will see you all
at Uno's, we will probably be there around 6:30!

Hey!  Poor little girl (and Mommy)!!  That must have been very scary!!!!  Miss Lydia has been sick for about a week and we went to the hospital on Sunday night!!  She is getting a little bit better now!  But we still need the oxygen until she is completely better. UGh!~  It is so hard trying to keep it on her!
I am excited for Thursday!!  I hope a lot of people are there!!  I think I might try and go for the whole time, depending on how Lydia is feeling!!
See you all there!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Girls!!  Sorry I have not got back to you!  We have had a long, sleepless weekend, Lydia and I are both sick.  I did get the buttons made at Ink Spot on North Clinton, and they are the most reasonable!!!  I think it is around a $1 a button, where all the other places I checked were like $3 or $4 dollars a button! For the quantity I wanted Ink Spot was the best (for my wallet)

Glad to hear Jordan is doing well. I agree Dr. Shott is great - we see Dr. Reddy
locally (much easier drive than Cincy) and we really like him as well. We never
had a sleep study but Griffin had disturbed sleep and now has both tonsils and
adenoids out. Sleep is still not perfect but MUCH better - the other issue is a
bad habit we created at birth - sleeping with mommy or daddy!

In the spring Jordan had surgery for sleep apnea. His apnea was so
severe it required 2 surgeries, and his tonsils and adenoids were
already out. We see Dr. Shott. She is terrific.

Apparently sleep apnea is a hugh problem in our kids. It disrupts
sleep patterns and the night time hormonal signal system. The brain
and body never have a change to rest and the child has problems
growing. This all effects learning.

Anyway, JOrdan goes back for a follow up study on the 28th of Sept.

Julie,
This is a great idea. I hope a lot of people join. We really do need
a way to net work and set up play groups.

But most of all, there is a lot of reasearch going on right now in
DS. Plus so much of the autism research overlaps with DS.
