Description
WE are a registered Al-Anon Group and follow the guidelines of The Al-Anon Family Group. Many who come to Al-Anon/Alateen are in despair. Feelings of hopelessness and unable to believe that things can ever change are why most of us sought out an Alanon group. Al-Anon offers hope and comfort to the families and friends of Alcoholics. Al-Anon has but one purpose: to help families of alcoholics. We do this by practicing the Twelve Steps, the Twelve Traditions and the Twelve Concepts and also by welcoming and giving confort to families of alcoholics, and by giving understanding and encouragement to the alcoholic.
The Steps help us learn how to love ourselves, trust our Higher Power and
begin to heal our relations with others. The Traditions show us how to build healthy relationships within our groups, among our friends and in our families. The Concepts help us extend all that we learn to the world at large__our family, jobs, organizations and communities.
We believe alcoholism is a family illness and that changed attitudes can aid recovery.
We want our lives to be different, but nothing we have done has brought about change. We all come to Alanon, because we want and need help. Recovery is for us also, for we can recover from the effects of some one else's drinking or using by working the Twelve Step program In Al-Anon and Alateen. Members share their own experience, strength, and hope with each other. You will meet others who share your feelings and frustrations, if not your exact situation. We come together to learn a better way of life, to find happiness whether the alcoholic is still drinking or not. We are here for each other to offer support and love.
