Hi, I am new to the forum but have some expertise in the subject of
diabetes. I have been a type II diabetic for over 10 years and have
tried literally everything on the market. I can explain some about
the amounts of herbs, vitamins and minerals you mentioned if you
want that. However I think Combetic is the very best as far as BS
control that I have EVER had. My HbgA1C on other supplements was
6.8 and after 2 months on Combetic(the only change I made) it is now
5.6 and I rejoice!!!

Diabetics need more chromium that is true. I am not sure they need
1000mg however. They also sometimes have difficulty making the
carotenoids turn into vitamin A so may need the actual vitamin
instead of its precursor.

I have been using a product for about 2 years called Bio-glycozyme
forte by Biotics Research NW(a professionally only sold multi for
diabetics). It is one of the products I recommend for all my
clients at Nu-health nutritional therapy who are diabetic. Since I
still take 2 tablets with each meal I don't know what would happen
if I stopped. All the vitamins and minerals are natural and not
synthetic which I believe is very important.If you are looking for
an excellent multi-vitamin for diabetics this is the best that I
have found. For three tablets:

Vitamin A(mixed carotenoids and palmitate or vit A) 5,000IU
Vitamin C (As calcium, magnesium and niacinamide ascorbates) 120mg
Vitamin D (as cholecalciferol) 200IU
Vitamin E ( a d-alpha tochopheryl acetate) 30 IU
Vitamin K(as phytonadione) 10mcg
Thiamin (B1)as cocaboxylase 15 mg
Riboflavin (B2)as riboflavin 5 phosphate 15 mg
Niacin(as niacinamide ascorbate) 25 mg
Vitamin B6 as pyridoxal5-phosphate 33 mg
folic acid 400mcg
Vitamin B12 as resin bound cobalamin 100mcg
Biotin 300mcg
Pantothenic Acid as calcium panthothenate 100 mg
Calcium as calcium citrate and ascorbate(best absorbed) 40mg
Magnesium as magnesium aspartate and ascorbate 40 mg
Zinc as zinc gluconate 15 mg
Selemium from vegetable culture 20 mcg
Copper as copper gluconate 2 mg
Manganese as manganese guconate 5 mg
Chromium from vegetable culture 100 mcg
Vanadium 10 mcg
potassium as potassium chloride 99 mg
Inositol 35 mg
Choline 35mg
Neonatal adrenal complex from bovine 15 mg
neonatal pancreas 15 mg
Neonatal liver 15 mg
and for its base it is Superoxide dismutase which is an antioxidant
so that nothing in the tablet goes to waste.

I also take an extra vitamin E(all natural mixed), a Nordic Naturals
Omega 3 oil capsule( the best tasting and natural as well as toxin
free),extra Ca/Mag tablets, and R alpha lipoic acid 3Xdaily, CoQ10-
30mg

Are you able to get all those you mentioned in one supplement? What
company do you use? I research each professional nutritional
company first before I take it or advise any of my clients to take
them. Many times you have to buy from companies in health food
stores that you do not know the reputation of, chem analysis of, or
even if they contain what they say they do.

Some of the products you mentioned ie cinnamon, bitter melon,gymnema
sylvestre, finagreek are all good and do help with blood glucose,
however I have found that the combination of the Bio-glycozyme and
the other nutrients above along with the combetic, diet and exercise
is all I need to have normal blood sugars.

You need so very much of the cinnamon to even dent the BS. But it
doesn't hurt you to use it in your decaf coffee, your other food
dishes etc. Using the vegetable bitter melon is what the Filipinos
do. It is sold in Asian markets. It is bitter though, and I
couldn't get used to it. The people of India have used Gymnema
sylvestre for hundreds of years with good results. It didn't help me
much however. There is a product called Diabest 2 that I also have
in my stock by Physiologics that has chromium, bitter melon, and
vandyl sulfate. It is quite good, however, I stopped taking it when
I began using combetic as otherwise my BS went too low and I was
hypoglycemic. I think everyone is an individual and must find their
own level of these herbs. Not all diabetics are the same. I keep a
close eye on my clients who are diabetics and require a food journal
every so often as well as lab tests like HgbA1c and FBS as well as 2
hour post paranial blood sugars. If you are looking for help on
diet and nutrition, I would be happy to "talk" to you seperately.

Hope I answered your questions. I don't know the exact dosages that
are required of the herbs, as every product I have checked out has
different amounts. So, I am not sure that there is an exact dosage.
