Welcome to the Yahoo group site representing the Coalition for Natural Desiccated Thyroid (CDT).

CDT was created in response to the 2009 crisis of the US shortage of desiccated thyroid as well as the FDA initiative of requiring a New Drug Application to pharmaceuticals who produce desiccated thyroid.

This group involves thyroid patients with an interest in desiccated thyroid, leaders in the thyroid movement, medical professionals, representatives from pharmaceuticals who produce desiccated thyroid, and any other individuals who can contribute positively and constructively for the aims of the group as we face shortages and an unknown future.

CDT sees itself as working alongside other focused groups and is not in competition.

The aim of CDT is four-fold: 1) sharing of factual information, 2) discussion of current issues related to desiccated thyroid shortages and FDA issues, 3) unity among all concerned, and 4) the coordination of grassroots action where needed.
