Good morning Elvira! And All!
You raise a good point. I will try and post a paragraph or two today or soon on this subject.
By the way, The National Disability Party, of which we are pleased to have you a Member At Large, and Persons with Pain International, (plus the other pain groups we are in) have for years participated actively at the United Nations in the new Convention on The Rights of Persons With Disabilities. There are new activities in this regard about which we can post separately.
It has many "Articles" seeking to protect Rights, and Article 12 really deals with people with disabilities having legal rights on an equal basis for others - including all matters of choice.. So it is very important not to be involuntarily committed (without one's choice) with others entirely making the decisions.
What I will post will just be spontaneous ideas, but would and will really love to have your views.
Warm regards and great to connect here, LDMF.
P.S. but not least only because mentioned last, we are pleased that Paul Cannaday, NDP Founder, is back here online, who foresaw the rights based approach to disabilities and is a true Pioneer.
