HI All
On Dec 13 I will be going into the hospital and on Dec 14 I will be
operated on.
As someas you know that on Aug.18 I have a totally new right hip in.Well
in a check up my surgeon found that I wasn't growing my own bone where
they bone graphs were.You see when you have replacements put in they put
bone graphs in and you are supposed to grow your own bone back to seal
everything in.I always grew my own bone.But now Im not.They atribute it
to the fact that the OA has taken over my own body so much that my body
has nothiing to do this.
I had two choces 1.Take out the new hip and have no hip.Ot go for this
surgery where they take real bone and make a new right pelvis and a new
scoket,I took the second.It has about a 50 percent chance of working.I
will never walk but I will have a leg that can support me.
We had desicided to do the left shoulder,the the right and then the
knee.Well everything has taken a back seat.Yes I am living with more
pain.The pain Dr has told me that my general pain leverl has gone up so
meds must be ajusted and they will on this wed.when I can fill my meds.
I will be in the Rothmann Inst.at the Thomas Jefferson Hospital in
Philly.The Rothmann Inst.does nothing but orthopediac surgery and they
are noted for what they do.So Im in good hands.If anyone wish's to send
me a card Susan will have my address and she will keep the group
informed on how I am doing.If you wish to call I ask you to wait until
I am back home.And I will not return for about 15 days.The reason for
that is 5 days at Rothmann and 10 days in my local hopital for rehab
