(I think traversal is the closest word to the thought, but do share your views and visions)...
Dear PWPI members:
Have been thinking much about the Disability Convention, (Treaty) both process and products, and how having organizations to turn to on an international basis is so important and going to be more so. In the best sense,s each existing international organization of persons with disabilities, including the World Blind Union, organizations for the deaf and those with intellectual and other issues, and those for survivors of psychiatric situations, will continue to provide stewardship and recourse for individuals. Time is ripe for us to don those thinking caps and bring more to our cause; let us pool our ideas for outreach, consult with our own affiliates, and continue to gain ground (or air time for our voice).
In affiliating during recent days with outreach for HIV/AIDS and other conditions where because other situations are profound pain prevention and relief might take a back seat, I feel more and more impelled to have PWPI there as an oasis for those in pain. Knowing how committed all those in PWPI are, it is cheering to know the inclusion will only spread now.
So onward we go!
Warmest regards, LDMF.
