Your post reminds me (thanks) that I also saw a program on this, though I do
not remember which one just now. It is quite interesting ... since the
snake venom affects nerves and nerves transmit pain signals, especially
devastating when the pain is neuropathic (nerve pain itself as contrasted
with, e.g., referred pain from elsewhere). We should look into this natural
phnomenon further, and thanks a lot for posting this information to us all.
