Hey Everybody,
I am proud to announce this testing program which will enable many to detect
and protect themselves from toxins.
It is especially interesting as you do not need to know which metal you are
looking for.
It is offered to you by the
Cleveland, OH - The Environmental Quality Institute of the University of North
Carolina at Asheville (EQI), Thermo Scientific NITON Analyzers, and the Ohio
Network for the Chemically Injured (ONFCI), have joined forces to create an
educational program in which the public will have an opportunity to
participate and take advantage of low cost testing beginning in February,
2007.
As many of you do not accept attachments all documents concerning this testing

DETECT
AND PROTECT
X-ray fluorescence technology can detect toxic levels of heavy metals in your
environment in seconds.
Current test methods require you to know what element you are looking for. If
you don't know, testing can become elaborately expensive. Modern testing
technology, internet search engines, networking, and good old fashioned
detective work make it possible for the layperson to identify toxic elements
in their home, school, or work environments that may be causing harm to their
health.
Innovative x-ray testing technology is available that can accurately detect
the levels of up to 26 elements in your environment in a matter of seconds.
The public has not been informed about this unique technology because the
product is cost prohibitive and special training and licensing is required to
operate it. However, consumers can create a demand for this technology by
requesting and encouraging their boards of health, testing companies,
employers, and others to purchase or rent the equipment to meet their needs.
It is a much needed tool to protect the public health and the answer to
quickly diagnosing the elements causing "Sick Building Syndrome" and "Sick
Schools."
Who Would Benefit?
Parents, teachers, school boards, day care centers, restaurants, boards of
health, employers, hospitals, physicians, dentists, and anyone responsible for
or concerned about the health of others.
What Can Be Detected?
RCRA Other: Antimony Manganese Thorium
Arsenic Lead Bismuth Molybdenum Tin
Barium Mercury Cobalt Nickel Titanium
Cadmium Selenium Copper Niobium Vanadium
Chromium Silver Gold Palladium Zinc
Iron Platinum Zirconium
Why Should I Test?
Heavy metals have been proven to cause serious health problems including:
cancer, asthma, anaphylactic shock, anemia, ADHD, depression, anxiety,
arthritis, diabetes, irritability, neuropathy, Parkinson's, dementia,
Alzheimers, fatigue, chemical sensitization (MCS), vascular disorders, vitamin
deficiencies, headaches, memory loss, metallic taste, nausea, food and drug
reactions, vertigo, skin rashes, chemical cellulitis, rapid heart beat,
light-headedness, brain damage, liver and kidney damage and even death.
Chronic daily exposure is capable of causing permanent health damage.
Where Should I Test?
Playground equipment
Pressure treated wood decks and fences (CCA, copper napthanate, etc.)
Furnace Ductwork (galvanized metal)
Pesticide Treated Lawns
Walls and other painted surfaces (lead)
Extracted teeth and dental fillings (mercury)
Lawn Furniture
Dishes and cookware, especially those imported from other countries
Soil
Items treated with wood preservatives
How Does X-Ray Testing Technology Work?
X-rays are emitted, and energy is released back from the atoms in the material
that is being scanned. The radiated energy is measured by the analyzer, and
the unique characteristics of this energy act as a "fingerprint" to identify
the composition of the material.
This technology provides immediate results at the test location without
destroying the sample. Samples do not have to be extracted in order to obtain
results. The analyzer can scan up to 26 elements simultaneously and provides
results in seconds.
