WATERFORD - A goat whose milk tested high for strontium-90 suffered a
condition in her bone marrow which may be linked to radiation releases
from the Millstone Nuclear Power Station, according to a veterinarian
who has practiced in southeastern Connecticut for 24 years.
The goat named Camy died near Millstone on July 21, 2006, leaving
two orphaned kids seven weeks of age.
The Connecticut Coalition Against Millstone will conduct a press
conference with the veterinarian at 120 Dayton Road, Waterford, the
location where three goats - Katie the Goat, Camy and Happy - resided
when their milk revealed high concentrations of strontium-90. The
veterinarian will discuss the findings of a necropsy performed on
Camy. Also present will be L.C. ("Little Camy") and Pete, Camy's
orphaned kids, who will drink formula from a bottle.
