The Henne Group is an independent marketing research firm. I am
asking
for
your help to find HIV-positive heterosexual men / heterosexual
women /
men
who have sex with men / gay and bisexual men to take part in some
interviews. The purpose of the interviews is to help us evaluate HIV
prevention messages for HIV-positive people. The interviews are part
of a
larger research study about HIV prevention messages. Perhaps you
could
help
us by posting a pre approved blurb from the CDC on an e-bulletin
board
or
chat room for your patrons to read. It is at the end of this email.

RTI International, a research company in North Carolina, and The
Henne
Group
are doing the study. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC)
is the sponsor of the study. We ask that you let your clients know
that
they may be eligible to take part in an interview. We hope that you
will
post the flyer that came with this letter.

To be eligible for the interviews people have to be HIV-positive.
They
can
be heterosexual men or women. They can be gay or bisexual men.
People
who
want to take part in the interview can call 1-877-737-5782 ext. 216.
When
they call, we will ask them a few questions. This is so we can find
out if
they are right for the interview. Those who are eligible and consent
to be
interviewed will come to our offices. There we will show them ideas
for HIV
prevention messages for people with HIV, and we will ask them to tell
us
what they think of these messages.

The people who are in the study will receive $75. This payment is
for
their
time and effort, and to cover their travel expenses. The interviews
will
take place in February/ March.

Our company has a 21 year history of recruiting people, including
HIV-positive people, for research studies. We are very careful to
keep
confidential the names of the people in the study. We also try to
make
the
experience pleasant and interesting. We will keep private everything
that
the people in the study tell us. We will not publish anything in the
findings that could identify those who take part in the interviews.

This research has been approved by the Institutional Review Boards at
the
