This is how I became tested.

I became aware that something was wrong, I phyiscally did not feel
good. Some of the symptoms I had were fever, chills, my skin was bad(
meaning I had spots or acne type of breakouts). I even had thrush,
which I had no idea what it was at the time.

Thrush is a fungal infection that appears usually orally, a thin
coating of white in the mouth area.

It wasn't until my skin became more blemished that I saw a
dermitologist. I mentioned to him about the thrush. He told me he
wanted to give me a blood test.

This is how I learned of my status. Many years have passed, and what
I know now is that the sooner I addressed my fears and found out, the
better off I was able to treat myself.

It's a scary thing to know, but knowledge is powerfull. I hope this
helps in anyway. Thanks
