"Changing the Face of HIV", an educational seminar on reconstructive
procedures for HIV-associated facial wasting, will be presented
jointly by Being Alive
San Diego and the UCSD Department of Plastic Surgery, supported by an
educational grant from GlaxoSmithKline. It will be Tuesday, June 15
at the
Doubletree Hazard Center in San Diego's Mission Valley, from 6-9 pm.
A light dinner
will be served prior.

The seminar is free, and both HIV providers and those living with HIV
are
encouraged to attend. Continuing medical education units for
providers will be
provided by the UCSD Department of Plastic Surgery.

AIDS is not over. There are 42 million people infected with HIV and
20 million people have died so far while 14,000 people are infected
every day. 8,000 people die everyday of AIDS while rich nations and
pharmaceutical companies watch. Only 5% of those needing treatment
get it. We will be remembered by future generations as the people who
allowed greed and profits to be more important than human suffering
and lives. Let's not turn our backs to the new holocaust!
