Thanks for the comments, and reminding us of the importance and
practical validity of transits once again.
Regarding your last point, about "consciousness" what do you think
about, or what is your experience re:, "the karmas indicated in the
birth chart, transforming through changes in consciousness (or
tapas/propitiation for that matter)", e.g. about the theory that one
grows out of ones chart, through spiritual evolution, karmas being
indicated softened so to say?
Dear Sabri:
I think there is an element of Jyotish, especially Consciousness Jyotish, wherever we begin,
we really can grow beyond the obvious limitations of our charts.
I think for most people their chart's are more fatalistic if they never do anything especially Vedic to change their stars.
Maharishi's Guru, Swami Brahmananda Sarasati used to say, there were a million kinds of births you could take before human births, and then after that, without meditation, thousands of life-times. However, with meditation, we can so magnificanently, expand ourselves, that we really can grow beyond the obvious limitations of our charts.
I know many 'meditators', who report much lessening of the obvious lessening of the stresses, of their 'malefics' or charts, since meditating, and that's been my experience as well.
But, then, add on top of that, the growth and self-development of the study of Jyotish, itself, and that, especially in conjunction with meditation, is an amazing dual, Vedic remedy!
Now, I believe that the malefics in our charts represent, really the stresses or blocks in our enlightenment.
And, as we go to the transcendental realm, and or, even, learn how to get more in-tune with those, so-called malefics, we can think in terms of eliminating all stresses!, or malefics.
In enlightenment, the deepest blocks to our infinite potential will be gone, but still, certain aspects of astrological personality and mental characteristics will still be there.
But, from the inside, we'll feel no restriction or limitations.
Nice talking with you.
Sincerely,
Mark Kincaid

Present & Up-coming Transit
of Rahu/Ketu & Jupiter's
Planetary War....
Dear Friends & Members:
I was thinking this morning that we can already begin to see the influence of Jupiter & Ketu's up-coming planetary collision which will culminate on August 12th when Ketu & Jupiter will both arrive ar the 21st degree of Virgo!
The last few weeks, in fact, there have been popping up so many bizarre and sorted affairs and strange losses and griefs in the public and in the news!
This last week we've seen the disappearance of that lovely young woman in Aruba, which gained national prominance as a result. Then over the weekend, the appearance of a notorious 'serial killer' was reported, and that splash of news has been flooding our air waves ever since.
This morning I realized, oh, my, all these may be due to the fact that Ketu & Jupiter are getting closer and closer.
Then when I did the chart of today, I found indeed, that Ketu was at the 25th degree and Jupiter the 15th degree, both in Virgo.
So, we should see this affect and karma, increasing, between now and the 12th of August, when both planets arrive at the same degree, (21st degree-Virgo).
Then, fortunately, this quality will begin to diminish, as Jupiter moves past, Ketu and Ketu/Rahu, continue in their counter clockwise motion, away from Jupiter.
Until then, I'd suggest not buying into that increasing negative, malefic tendency of Ketu & Rahu to diminish Jupiter's power and wisdom.
One thread of positivity, is that Jupiter can be having a positive affect on Ketu/Rahu, as well.
Even though that famous BTK serial killer has come back into the limelight, but, it's in the light, of his
finally being found, and brought to justice, and even some of his victim's families have commented that they will finally be able to start feeling some peace and closure as a result.
This struck me as on the other side, Jupiter's benign influence, upon Ketu & Rahu, too.
What will be helpful, during this Jupiter/Ketu/Rahu, upcoming planetary war, is to emphasize Jupiter's naturally benefic nature and not to give into any of Ketu's strange or Rahu's bizarre, realities.
I'm very happy to report that over 250 people have joined all these yahoo groups these last 2 and 1/2 months.
We now have almost 800 people who have joined our Yahoo groups!
So, I'm sorry if I haven't had a chance to get to know all of you.
I thought I might instead ask you about what areas of Astrology interest you, the most?
Jyotish Questionnaire
There are so many exciting and interesting aspects of Jyotish.
Sooooo,...... let me know what your interests are and especially what you'd like to hear more about, over the next couple of months.
These 3 months of the Spring & Summer are my favorite months of the year!
As the Sun transits my 9th, 10 & 11th houses, I have the most amazing and exciting, progressive months of 'my' year!
So, here's hoping that we can grow in Jyotish together...
Some, HINTS !!
Here are some of my interests and would love to hear from you, as to yours!
Some of my Topics over the next few months!
Sun in Gemini....
I like to reflect on the beauty and deep Wisdom of Gemini during this month!
Gemini teaches us about "many things" at a time.
The 'dual' nature of the Stars Castor and Pollex, teach 'us' about Unity within diversity!
Those that have strong and balanced 'Geminish' qualities, live the wonderful quality of Unity...
amidst, life!

____________________________________________
____________________________________________
Next month as the Sun moves into Cancer, the sign and Wisdom of 'compassion', and Motherly careing and nourishment,.... will be the time of the year to stimulate more Cancer, wholeness!
Cancer, is a very special time, because Jupiter, perhaps the best Benefic influence in life, is Exalted or at it's best!, during Cancer...
So, here we can explore how to enliven more Cancer, within us!
____________________________________________
____________________________________________
____________________________________________
Finally, as the Sun moves into Leo, we get blesst with the powerful, Leo energy and wisdom of Self-Worth.
Those with good Sun's in their charts live great self-power, self-effort, will, and self-empowerment!
During this month we can explore 'HOW', to generate more self- power!
____________________________________________
____________________________________________
____________________________________________
Other Topics of interest to me include:
Generally, Jyotish considers that there are 2 primary aspects of Astrology.
#1, there's the fact that our charts 'fit' us!
Many of you already have been blessed with experiences of self-Understanding, and ahhass!, even Eurekas, as you've again and again, discovered the intimate, 1 to 1 Correspondence between You!, and your life, and all the details of your Jyotish chart!
Even this experience and growing realization can change your life!
Here, we can talk all about the dimensions and aspects of this Jyotish: "UNDERSTANDING"!
____________________________________________
____________________________________________
____________________________________________
#2, there's another aspect of Jyotish, though it has been much forgotten over the last years, is however just as important as #1.
And, that is the power of Jyotish Transformation! Commonly called Jyotish remedies or remedial measures, but it's also believed that there is a place in Jyotish for transforming overselves, into a better us!
In the past especially if you look at any of the Jyotish books written over the last 15 years, you'll find 90-95% of the book is about the #1 category of Jyotish Understanding.
Then the #2, area, of self-improvement, is only talked about 5% of the time!
Now, I understand that this % can easily be changed.
For a long time I thought it should be more like 50/50%.
Lately I've come to believe it could be even 5% Understanding & 95%!, Jyotish Transformation!
In fact the longer you study Jyotish the more you become aware of exactly which of your Planets are acting Malefically.
Then, one's almost complete time can be spent in strengthening and improving those malefics!
____________________________________________
____________________________________________
____________________________________________
Then of course, there are the many areas of Jyotish that many find fascinating!
Take Self-education and schooling for example.
We can talk about how Jyotish is so good at self-discovery and even talk about parenting, and education, and life purpose.
Then, there's the beginning many uses of Jyotish to help one begin to manifest the true Purpose of our Lives!
____________________________________________
____________________________________________
____________________________________________
This is one of the most fascinating areas of Jyotish, for me.
It covers, so many different and unique life purposes, and yet, once the overall ideas are learned then, we can teach this to others!
Almost every one I've ever met, has an innate desire to understand and manifest the real purpose of their lives, more completely!
Jyotish is the Ultimate, Self-Improvement Technology!

The below, is an article, letter, that I recently wrote for the Jyotish course that I'm teaching.
I thought you all, might find it fascinating because it discusses the very important area of Jyotish, "REMEDIAL MEASURES, & REMEDIES".
To me, this is the most important part of Jyotish.
Jyotish not only contains the Wisdom, as to 'why' we're the way we are, but it also contains all the Wisdoms as to how to improve ourselves!
Enjoy
Mark Kincaid....
Dear All, friends & Course Members:
Now begins the very exciting stage of "JYOTISH SELF-IMPROVEMENT"!
So far we've been learning about how our charts fit us!
This alone is a very great thing.
Once we realize there's a 'reason' why we're the way we are, and why we're going through what we're going through; then, we can truely begin changeing ourselves.
One of the inherent benefits of knowing the Astrological 'reason' behind each and every aspect of our lives, is the wisdom and the peace that comes!
Otherwise, if we can't figure out why we're the way we are, we often feel like we're living in a completely unjust, and unfair Universe, and we are such a small speck of insignificance in the huge vastness of life!
But, once we begin to see the Jyotish thread that runs through our live's, then begins the growing awareness of Vedic Wisdom.
One of the most important aspects of Vedic Wisdom is that we are the "creators", of our lives.
Through our actions, thoughts and behaviors in the past, we come into this world with 'charts' of our makings.
However, so often we either forget this reality or can't 'see' that seeming invisible thread that binds us from the past, into our futures, or present.
Jyotish however, not only "sees" that connection but helps us know that we are indeed the creators of our destiny.
Therefore, there's a natural power that comes from even just "knowing" that there are good, Astrological reasons why we are the way that we are!
But, there's another side, to Jyotish as their is in life.
And, that is, that our troubles, our challenges, or sufferings, called "MALEFICS", according to Jyotish are not only about our problems, but!.... they're also about our life or Vedic, Jyotish solutions!
If we're living under the grief of a malefic functioning Mars or Saturn, then we can "find" that our malefic Mars or Sautrn is represenative of our problems!
However, it's also true, that our Malefics are also indicative of our life, or Jyotish Solutions!
If Mars is the malefic problem and we go too fast, and have many accidents then, Mars is one of our malefics!
But, that same Mars, is also indicative of the very planet that can be changed, improved or strengthened, and as we begin to grow in the truer nature of the Benefic potential of that planet; then, those same problems that used to be so gripping, begin, immediately to go away!
This is the essence of my insight into Jyotish!
Our Malefics are not only represenative of our problems, but, they're also symbolic of our solutions!
This possibility of course, is already there in the nature of Jyotish.
That's why the concept of "REMEDIES", or "REMEDIAL MEASURES", is already there, in Jyotish.
Unfortunately, only focusing on 'it' for 5% of the time, is not enough, and life has continued in all of it's problems, disappointments and sufferings, just because we have forgotten, how to easily, naturally and effortlessly, change, transform and improve our lives!
The "KEY", is Jyotish, or Malefic Transformation!
Once we begin along this path, however, it becomes extremely exilerating because it's really, the true purpose of our lives!; to find these paths of self-improvement!
The rest of the course, now, will begin focusing on exactly how we can change, improve and unfold the full potential of any weak, undeveloped, or troublesome, "MALEFIC", in our charts!
Even a few steps in this direction will bear unbelievable fruits!
Each one of us, contains within us, the FULL POTENTIAL, of all the Planets!
Learning how to release the power and majesty of our previously functioning Malefics, will now, change your life!
Once you understand and then, begin to experience this powerful, Jyotish or Vedic Transformation, you'll forever have a 'handle' on how to get yourself out of any scrape, or challenge in life.
The steps are very easy!
#1 Identify the problem that we're going through. It may be accidents, or it may be disagreements, with others. It may be delays, frustrations, or losses, grief, and suffering any any form!
#2 Identify the Astrological Planet or Jyotish Astrological 'configuration' that's responsible for that problem!
It could be a Moon in the 12th House. It could be Saturn in the first house, or a Saturn with our Sun's, Mercury's or Venus'.

I will say, this taking a quick look, and that is in people's words, one can hear the planet, or planets that are being negative, malefic or obtrusive!
In your words: "delay" in marriage and "non-settlement" of career,...
both delay and no-settlement are two choice SAturn words!
And it looks like your Moon & Saturn are in the same house and sign, in your chart.
Is that right?
You have so many good things too.
Exalted Jupiter, Sun in Leo, it's Own Sign.... very powerfully good parts.
But, your words connotate Saturn so strive to be more in-tune with Saturn.
This is especially important because Saturn moves into the Sign, where your Exalted Jupiter, is!

hirakbasak.....
Dear Hirakbasak:
We also all know that life involves freedom!
And, though the debate of free will vs pre-determinism, is a very ancient
and almost inexchaustible debate, still something can be done!
"The proof lies in the pudding"!,...someone said!
In other words, we don't have to solve this debate, but remedial measures
and remedies
do exist and they do work!
In fact, there's a bit of revival going on right now, in the whole sphere of
Vedic science about remedial measures.
From Meditation, to yoga, to Ayurved, to Yaguas, and now, even Jyotish, the
whole field is full of great examples of 'remedies' working!
I'll give you one example.
Meditation used to be thought to be very difficult and generally very hard
for someone to do, and to progress in.
Today, however, meditation has been revived!
It's now, taught in a more natural, effortless and effective manner.
As a result, millions of people from all over the World, all countries, in
fact, have picked up the practice and are experiencing amazing results.
Check out the over 600 scientific studies that have been conducted now, on
Meditation's benefits, over the last 35 years, to give concrete examples of
remedies working.
(See tm.org, under scientific research for the studies).
Meditaiton, by the way is not only a great Vedic remedy, it's also a great
Jyotish one as well.
In meditation, both the Sun, Moon, even Saturn are strengthened as a result
of it's innocent practice.
Like this, Jyotish, now, too, is going through an amazing Revival!
When I first started studying Jyotish, over 18 years ago, now, any book that
I read, whether it was 100 pages or 200, would have 95 or 195 pages on the
Jyotish, and only 5 pages on the remedial measures or remedies, in the back.
It was almost like an after thought!
And the view, back then, was more depressive, skeptical, even negative in
the prognosis of Jyotish solutions!
But, that's all now, begun to change.
I personally, know of hundreds of people who have been vastly improved as a
result of utilizing Jyotish for it's natural remedies!
In truth, we have been born, for these self-improvements.
Take the example of a functioning Malefic Mars, in someone's chart.
Mars may be symbolic of their Mars problems, ie. accidents, anger, fights,
disagreements, etc.
however, under closer scrutiny their MARS, is meant to be brought under
control!
If the Mars is making us have accidents, what Nature is trying to tell us,
through the avenue of these accidents is!,...we're going to fast.
And, at some point, we get it,..."wow, I'm going too fast!"
Then, we begin the process of reigning in our Mars, pitta.
In fact, if we had gone to an Ayurvedic doctor and told him we were feeling,
hot and irritable and even angry; he'd have felt our pulse and might have
said:
"Ahhhh, you're very imbalanced with pitta!"
Then, the problem gets treated and very quickly through the time honored
techniques of Ayurved, that 'maleficall functioning' pitta, gets brought
under control.
Like this, we can make remedies in our charts, and our lives!
Self-improvement is part of life, just like genetics, and pre-conditionings
are.
They both exist, together.
Freedom and boundries, or causality.
Freedom and conditionings....
Tell me your date of birth, and rising sign/AScendent, and what is any area
of your life you'd like
to improve, and I'll show you how it can be done!
Sincerely,
Mark Kincaid

2 Goals & Prescriptions for Strengthening Saturn..
If you're like me, you're one of 95% of the people in the world who were born with a functionally malefic, acting Saturn!
Today I was thinking of Saturn and a couple of interesting thoughts popped into my head.
I was thinking a great way of strengthening Saturn would be to keep in mind these 2 simple
goals or prescriptions.
#1 Create a Goal, to develop MORE ....SATURN silence, each day!
Keep in mind, that each day, you could feel less stressed, tired and out of balance.
Each day, you could experience more and more inner calmness, settledness and centeredness!
Having 'that' as a goal, helps me with my SAturn, because since I've realized SAturn can be strengthened, my whole life has smoothed out, and become more easy, natural, and fulfilling.
The problem most of us face, is we have our goals, desires and dreams, and those become our focus.
But, if we forget that the paths of our desires, is due to our Saturn's, then, we'll be puzzled why we don't get better results!
Technically, we should say both SAturn and Mars represent the 'paths' of our lives.
Our goals, dreams, and life-aspirations probably come due to our Sun's, Moon's, & especially Jupiter.
But, the way in which we try and fulfill our dreams is through our Saturn.
When Saturn is balanced, then, the path to the fulfillment of those desires is natural, easy and effortless!
Wow, that's so great to say that! hehe
Too bad, it wasn't my earliest experience, hehe.
But, encountering Saturn resistances, frustrations, delays, disappointments, losses, and grief, especially along our paths, is Nature's way of showing us how in-tune we are, presently, with our Saturns.
Therefore, #1, develop a Goal to increase your Saturn power each day!
That will feel like, more and more settledness, more calmness, and more inner stillness.
That's #1, then, go about your day, your life, your activities, from that increasing Saturn strength, but, as soon as you start getting tired, stressed, or wigged out, then, relax, let go, get more rest!
#2.... The second goal that I thought of was to create a plan to accumulate more Saturn financial wealth every day!
Modern Economics says we all should have a savings plan!
We already should be on a plan to save 10-20% of our incomes to create financial stability.
The first goal you'll hear about if you pick up most books on finances, is: "Create An Emergency Fund of 6-Months of your Expenses"!
I thought they were kidding first time I read that!
I mean, I'd never had that before.
Not even 6 weeks, ahhh, maybe 6 days, but 6 months!,... unbelievable.
So, I thought, what the heck, what harm can it cause.
I'd tried it the other way, and living on the edge financially all of my life, hadn't done it yet!
(Saturn with Moon in the 12th, is very symbolic of not saving enough!)
So, I adjusted.
I set a goal, and after about 6 months I saved my first 1,000$.
Boy, was that hard! hehe I noticed there was such a habit, a flow, for money to go out, (ie. 12th house!), so it took awhile.
But, after even that first 1,000$ saved, I noticed a big shift!
All of a sudden, all the little things, flat tires, unexpected bills, all, unforseen expenditures, started to not affect me so intensely.
I had a small buffer!
Wow, did that feel better.
I got inspired to save more!
Over the next year, or so, I finally achieved that miraculous, 6-Month's of my Expenses, saved in my little emergency fund!
Wow, did that change my life!
Now, I really felt insulated from all the financial ups and downs in life.
And, for the first time in my life, I started to really understand the power of saving!
Now, it's about 10 years, later, and for most of these years, I've had at least that 6-month's reserve, and I have to say, this one 'SAturn' improvement, has totally improved my life.
Sure, the last 5 years of mini-recession was very tight. I couldn't always stay with that.
In fact I had to dip into those savings quite regularly, but having that as a great first financial goal, kept me always growing in Saturn quietness and power, with money!
You do these 2 things:
Create my Saturn restfulness...and
create more SAturn wealth, and your life will be transformed!
Every one's path along this goal, will be different, but even 1 or 2 months in this direction, will change your life!
When Saturn becomes more benefic, you'll be amazed at how happy and purposeful you'll feel!
Good luck!
Jai Sani!
Sincerely,
Mark Kincaid

I'd say at least 60-70% of the people, in the World today, are very substantially, "AFFECTED", by the movements of the Stars or the Transits!
To find out if you're one of those people, watch how you 'feel' for 2 months.
Especially watch how you feel during the 7 or 8 Inauspicious or Delicate days of each Month.
In my CALENDER, of Daily Star Reports or Transits, I identify which days are especially challenging, stressful, negative or delicate.
Each one of us needs to watch for 2 or 3 months, to see, if we're one of those people that get easily affected by the subtle, Cosmic 'Currents', from the STars!
Right now, the Moon's starting off today, at the 29th degree of Cancer.
Moon's been colliding with all-important Saturn the last 2 1/2 days.
Normally the Moon's so happy during these days because the Moon/Cancer, is in it's Own Sign, which means generally, it's very powerful, balanced, and happy, there!
However, over the next 2 years, as Saturn continues to move across Cancer, notice that these generally more 'rosy' days, will be under the grip of SAturn!
Therefore, be sure to be most in-tune with Saturn during these days, so this regular, predictable 'transit' will be positive and progressive!
Right now, today, the Moon quickly moves in Leo.
NOTE: that the Moon's getting bigger and bigger, now, that tiny sliver of the New Moon, interestingly enough called: "THE SHIVA MOON"!
is beginning to get fuller and fuller....
Also, over the next few days notice that the Sun makes it's regular transition into Gemini, which is the next Sign of the Zodiac.
Many people in Jyotish tend to 'forget' about the Sun, and it's transits.
The truth is that the Sun, is the biggest Astrological 'reality' in our entire Solar System, and especially 'charts'!
All the Planets, could be wrapped up in a small ball, and placed in one tiny little corner of the Sun!
Be sure to know the significant, Cosmic, Astrological meanings of the Sun for you!, according to your chart.
o What House does your Sun rule?
o Every month as the Sun moves into a new Sign, notice what house is the Sun ruling, and
what house, is the Sun moving through!
This will show you, what areas of the life, your Life deepest goals, and dreams are 'moving' through!
Most people don't pay much attention to the Sun, because the Sun's like the Unified Field!, of Physics.
In Physics, especially Quantum Mechanics, the study of the subtlest 'quanta' of atomic realities, they say the difficulty with the Unified Field, is it can't be studied directly!
Only when an atom, pops out of the Unified Field, or pure Vacuum state, or state of least excitation, can 'anything' be studied!
The Sun is like that.
It's the 'light' through which we then look into the Moon/mind, and see, think, feel, perceive, and do!
This is why Jyotish traditionally emphasizes the Moon!
The Moon, however, is where our Minds are!
The Moon/mind is where we feel, think, perceive, and move thoughts into actions, into the World.
Note however, the key to the Mind's health is it's connection with the Sun!
How bright, how big, how effervescent the Sun is has a huge empact on how powerful the Moon/mind, is.
Every day, the Moon gets bigger and bigger, and more of the full-light of the Sun, shines upon it's surface.
We focus so much on the Moon, sometimes, we forget it has no life, really, except the light, of the Sun, shining upon it!
This month, watch the Sun's transit from Taurus to Gemini, and see if you can 'feel' that transit reality.
The Sun represents where your 'Soul' is, and what it's doing.
The Sun represents the deepest goals, dreams, and aspirations of your spirit and even Consciousness.
Enjoy!
Jai Guru!
Sincerely,
Mark Kincaid
SPECIAL NOTE!
Saturn recently moved into the New Sign of Cancer! May 26th!
This represents a complete shift from Gemini to Cancer....
Because Cancer's the home of the Moon, or the heart, and emotional, Mind, then, this can be
a kind of stressful time for many.
If you begin to feel any of the more negative characterisitics of SAturn/Cancer, then, take this as a hint that Saturn will need more attention during this very important transit!
If you feel worried, or upset, nervous, unsettled, and really, any emotional or Moonish, negative characteristic, then take this as possibly due to Saturn's new presence, there!
Saturn is probably for most, the most important malefically functioning Planet, so learning to strengthen and develop Saturn is often a very good thing!
Now, during these next 2 years; will be the right time, to focus on this inner development!
If we do, this could become the best of times.
If we do, then this more tradionally malefic time, can become a one where inner development, and even, more!, peace of mind, can be experienced!
The choice is up to us!
Nature is prompting us, to do this, now.
However, we are still free to listen to Nature, or to ignore.
Follow your hearts!
If you're experiencing any of the negatives, then, pay more attention to this!
Until....your experience turns into bliss!
I've begun experiencing this already, and what I've noticed already is that I need to spend more time in meditation then normal.
Where normally I'd spend 20 or 25 minutes meditating, and then find relief of stress and fatigue from the previous day.
Now, I'm fining I need to spend slightly more time, to create the same affect.
Maybe 25, or 30 minutes, makes a huge difference.
So, if you're feeling uneasy, take more rest, be more focused on the quality of your experience!
It, often gets tested during important Saturn transit, periods!

Therefore, from our teachers including Gurus, we gain knowledge.
Guru represents the entire 'teaching' situation from our kindergarten teachers, to our Divine Gurus.
Guru represents the student, teacher relationship.
Guru, even, represents the parent, child relationship.
Guru, represent, the divine relationship between individual soul and God.
"Guru is God"! some have said, so Guru or Jupiter, has something to do with God.
Guru or Jupiter, rules, (naturally) the 9th House in Jyotish.
9th House, being the House of God.
Slightly different then the 5th House, which is called the House of Mantras, vs. the 12th House, which is the house of the transcendental realm.
Then there are the moksha houses, 4th, 8th, & 12th, and since Jupiter has to do with Liberation, understanding those houses may be significant in our charts.
Jupiter, Guru, Moksha, Liberation, represents the path from ignorance to Enlightenment.
This is the 'range' of Jupiter.
Consciousness is the Reality of Guru, or Jupiter.
Jupiter represents the Wisdom of Reality, Being or Consciousness.
Jupiter, therefore represents 'faith', and depending upon the Jupiter, in one's chart, one either has good faith or doubting or even skepticism.
Jupiter represents 'Wisdom', learning, therefore studying, and all school learnings are ruled by Jupiter.
Jupiter, in our charts, shows us how much strength of Guru, we're starting out with.
But, there's an old expression that goes like this:
"You may have God mad at you, and in such a case, you can appeal to the Guru!
But, if you have the Guru mad at you, who else can you appeal to?"
I love this expression, it helped me understand the subtle differences between God and Guru, in my Life.
God is our Father, our very Mother, Guru is our teacher.
Guru therefore, has a different relationship, and where God, inspires us as a child to their Parent, Guru inspires us as a serious, student.
The love between Guru and disciple, is one of the most precious relationships in life.
Guru therefore rules teachers, even Mentors, is a kind of Guru-disciple relationship.
Financial advisors, doctors, Advisors, Counselors, teachers of all kinds, all, are Gurus.
Whether we find ourselves playing the role of a student or as a Guru, in any stage of life; we should understand the precious realities of this Divine Relationship.
We should take seriously our role when we find ourselves, being the student!
The student, should approach the teacher, or Guru, with the utmost sincerity and openness.
If we find ourselves playing the role of Guru, then we should take with the utmost appreciation, the divine role of teacher.
I remember when I came across this passage from the great sage Maharishi Parashara, whom, many consider as the founder of Jyotish.
"If we do Jyotish, poorly, we'll come back as,..(and here are my words: hehe), the worse kind of toad!"
I loved this expression because it cautioned me, to make sure that whenever I sought to help, guide, advise, or instruct, that I'd remember the keen importance to do this, well!
Guru therefore, should be uplifting, inspiring, and full of promise, hope, and Enlightenment.
Contemplate the perfection of Guru, or Jupiter, in Cancer.
2 years ago, I was thinking about this when I watched the Guru, move through Cancer, as it went through my 10th house.
After awhile, I felt that sweet presence of the Divine Mother, blessings to all, as 'she', moved across my house of career.
All of a sudden I realized the Ideal, perfect Guru, is the Mother!
When the Guru, is Divine like the Mother, Guru instructs, cares, and is compassionate as a Mother is to her children, then the Guru is perfect.
I think of that now, when I think of Jupiter.
Find the Jupiter in your charts, and ask yourself, what flavor of Guru, did you start this life with.
Jupiter in Aries, has a very dynamic and outward and manifest destiny or flavor.
Jupiter in Taurus, is a Guru, of the heart, practical, down to earth, focusing on love, compassion and devotion.
Jupiter in Gemini, is Wisdom through Intellect. Gemini, is ruled by Mercury so when Jupiter is there, there's an inherent love of learning.
Jupiter in Cancer, is Exalted!, Jyotish says. Find this as the Ideal, and aspire to be like a Mother, loving, careing, compassionate, and considerate. Love is the thread that binds Mother to her children, and like that, Jupiter should love their students, and disciples.
Jupiter in Leo, has a paternal or Fatherly flavor to it.
Jupiter in Virgo, is seeking wisdom through Intellect, through critical analysis, and through 'perfectionism'. Jupiter in Virgo, will be precise, detailed, and discriminative. Don't be too hard on yourself, or others, just because you can see the fault. The real 'perfection' lies in being able to see the solution, which is perfect, Life!
Jupiter in Libra, is the Wisdom of balance, harmony and being a great counselor, or arbitrator.
Jupiter in Scorpio, is the wisdom of researching Guru.
Jupiter here loves research and studying privately, for the betterment of all of society.
Jupiter in Sagittarius, is one of the 3 best places of Guru. Sagittarius, is so similar to the nature of Guru, that this placement bodes well, for all. Guru, here, is a natural teacher, giver of knowledge, and loves learning, is extremely curious and loves to travel in the mind, as well as the physical World.
Jupiter in Capricorn, is fallen, weak, and undeveloped due to that Capricorn energy. Because Capricorn represent 'materialism' or physical values, Guru is asleep, in Capricorn.
Jupiter is 'debilitated' in Capricorn, because the energy of Divine Guru, is being mixed up or lost to physical or material values.
I asked a friend of mine, one time what it was like to have Jupiter/Capricorn. "Charles, I'm confused by your Jupiter. I mean I see you as a great devotee, lover of God, even a good teacher, so I'm wondering, How do you see this Jupiter/Capricorn part of you!"
He said: "All of my life, I've noticed that I seem to choose the materialistic solutions to things, instead of the more deep, spiritual ones. When I find myself at a fork and I reflect within, I used to find myself, being practical, making materialistic choices, and as a result, the consequences weren't that great! But, as I've gotten older, and wiser, especially since knowing this about my Jupiter, it's allowed me to make better, more spiritual choices!"
Jupiter in Aquarius, is slightly better. Aquarius, representing "unconventional creativity", therefore finds one seeing the unconventional or untraditional possibilities, for life.
Jupiter in Pisces, is the 2nd Sign, with Sagittarius, where Jupiter's in it's Own Sign. Jupiter in Pisces, being Pisces is the 12th and final sign of the Zodiac, represents final liberation, and Enlightenment.
Jupiter in Pisces seeks power and illumination through transcendence, through finding the Self, and gaining knowledge and wisdom, through this inner awakening.
So, wherever you find your Jupiter, aspire for it's Perfection in the sweet, loving nature and comfort, of the Mother.
From Jupiter comes, natural fulfillment of desires.
From 'good' Jupiter, power, comes good luck, boons, and grace.
Going to a Great, Guru, gives us the Dharshan, or Sight, or Light, of the Guru.
The Guru illuminates through his Divine glance, or touch and we are enlightened through this encounter.
Devotion to 'Guru', whether in the form of a physical, real Guru, or the Guru, of the Universe, brings great luck and fulfillment.
Open your Heart, to the Guru, within.
It is, after all the nature of your Higher Self!
As you find your inner Guru, you'll begin seeing the play of the Guru, everywhere.
At every stage there's a teacher, and a student. At every junction, there's a higher and a lower.
These situations of subtle differences are for the sake of evolution.
One stage, reaching down, to help the other, gives tremendous strength, and comfort along the path.
If we don't have this grace, life may appear very arduous, difficult and lonely.
But, the Divine Guru, God, is there also at every moment, and in any instance, the Divine may speak to you, or be heard.
We open our hearts to the Divine Guru, for the sake of answers, solutions, help, and Divine Wisdom.
As we expand our hearts and minds, and our Consciousnesses, also, expand; we find ourselves at the lotus feet of the Guru.
May the blessings of Guru, bless us in every moment of our lives!
Guru, moves through love.
As the student approaches the teacher, (Guru), with an apple, the Guru's heart is moved.
In that stirring of the heart, the teacher is inspired to give what he has, to his students.
The role of being a good student is vital for drawing to one, the boons of Guru.
If we don't act respectfully, if we act conceited, or arrogantly, then the Guru might not be found.
There's this beautiful passage in Yogananda's book, his Autobiography of a Yogi, where he's talking to his Guru.
"But Gurjii, how can we help, (Sasha), if he won't listen to reason?" "Sasha has not heeded our advice, or instructions, so now, the World, will become his Guru."
I loved when I read this passage, because it shows the importance of respect for one's Guru, however, it also says that the Guru, can be found in nature itself, even if a more formal Guru is not found.
Some of the greatest sages, or Enlightened Seers, or 'Gurus', didn't have a formal Guru.
The Guru, exists in Life, itself, as our Higher Selves!
Opening ourselves, to the Guru, whether physically, or spiritually, brings the blessings of the Higher, Self, to ourselves.
"The Higher Self, unfolds itself, by itself, to itself, for the nature of the SELF."
quote of one great Guru.
Let the Light of the Guru, which surely rules and flows through the Divine Science of Jyotish; let that light, guide our way, and help us find the fulfillments of our lives!
Jai Guru
Sincerely,
Mark Kincaid

In Jyotish the Cosmic Year begins on the first day that the Sun
returns to the lst degrees of Aries.
We can celebrate the New Year, on this day.
It's especially nice to celebrate the New Year, when the Spring
is coming, and the harher Winter is done.
Enjoy this wonderful look at what's going to be happening with
the Stars! for you, this up-coming year.

General Highlights Starting the Year & Now, June,
Sun moved into Aries, on April 13th, which represents
the Sun's happiest place to be in Exalted Aries!
Since then, Sun has moved into Taurus where today,
it's already up to the 17th degree of Taurus.
Main Weaknesses, right now:
Saturn recently moved 'back' into Cancer, where it
tends to act malefically anyway, but at this time,
it then, continues negatively aspecting Jupiter,
which is moving through the Sign of Virgo.
This negative transit, will go on until Sept. of 2005.
Today, June 1st the Moon is Waning and starts off
the day, (9am CDT, US), at the 13th
degree of Pisces. Because the Sun's in Taurus, this
represents the Moon, moving through
the final quarter of it's Waning Cycle.
The next week then, will see an increasing small
Moon which will culminate in the New Moon on
June 6th.
See if you notice a 'waning'ness in your own life and
activity.
Most people who suffer any negative results do so,
often, because they don't shift with the Moon.
Allow yourself to be more inward, and more restful
during these last few days of the Moon's cycle.
After that, the Moon will burst out from the Sun and
begin's it's next Great, Outward,
dynamic Waxing Cycle.
Be, in-tune with the Moon!
Watch how you feel over these next 6 days.
If you feel more tired, less energy, and any qualities of
uneasiness, worries or anxieties, this may be due to
'Not' paying enough attention to the Moon!
Rest, as the Moon, Wanes!
Do, as the Moon, Waxes!
Rest & Activity.....
This is one of the reasons why the Western non-
Astrological Calendar is so misleading.
Many people feel like their Month's begin on the first,
but it's not true.
Nature follows the Sun and the Moon, and if we learn
to live our lives around the Moon cycle, especially,
we'll be a lot more Happy! and Successful!
June 2005
Monday Tuesday Wed Thur Fri Sat Sun
2nd 3rd 4th 5th
June lst
A-B-C
Moon continues it's Waning, Last Quarter in now, so great time,
to get more rest. Moon's in Pisces where it's simultaneously
being aspected by Rahu(inPisces), Ketu, (fromVirgo), & Jupiter,
also from Virgo. Bit of a mixture of positive and negative forces.
Should feel mostly Jupiter's influence today, and Rahu/Ketu's
tomorrow....
Monday Tue. Wed. Thur. Fri. Sat. Sun.
June 2nd
B-C-D Moon starts off day at 26th degree Pisces, so still Waning, though
now, moving out of that intense Rahu/Ketu corrider!
Because Rahu/Ketu are at the 27th degree also in Pisces, notice
some roughness on the feeling level early but then begin to dis-
apate later during the day.
June 3rd
B-C Moon moves into Aries, today, so that Rahu/Ketu influence will
fall off pretty quickly. Aries will spur us to do, but because the
Moon is getting very small now, don't strain against that!
Sat.
6/4
B-C Moon already has moved to the 22nd degree of Aries today. Moon
moves about 12 degrees each day, in case you're interested.
So, Moon's finishing up Aries, and still Waning, very, very tiny,
now.
Sun.
5th Moon moves into Taurus, which is very
good today! Moon's Exalted in Taurus, so
the next few days are very Auspicious.
Hence A! However, during this time of the
year, the Sun's also in Taurus, so this very
Special Exlated Moon, time, is also very
unusual because the Moon's on the verge
of being nill, or New Moon, (tomorrow),
so you'll notice this mixture of positive
and negative. Though the New, very small
Moon period does not have to be negative if
we rest during this time!
Taurus, it's Own sign.
Monday Tue. Wed. Thur. Fri. Sat. Sun.
June 6th
NEW MOON
TODAY! B-A Moon begin's at the 17th degree of Taurus, today.
Sun's at the 21st degree, so only 10 hours away
from the Heighth of the New Moon. 5pm Heighth of the New Moon, CDT
(US 6th time zone)

B-A
New Moon ended yesterday, Waxing
Moon Cycle Begins, today! Moon begin's the day at the beginning of Gemini. Waxing!
Though Moon still very small.
*Mercury and Venus are in an interesting Exchange
of Signs, now. Mercury's in Gemini, and Venus is in
Taurus' Sign. So, there's this great positivity
between thinking (Mercury) & Feeling, (Venus).
Monday Tue. Wed. Thur. Fri. Sat. Sun.
June 8th
B-A
Moon starts off the day at the 12th degree of Gemini. Moon is with other Benefics: Venus & Mercury, so today
should be good. Only negative is Mars aspects Gemini,
from it's movement throughPisces. If you feel at all 'rough'
early, that should pass, later in the day. Mercury moves into Gemini, now, so great time,
for everything to do with Mercury, & Intellectual
decision makings, etc, good
now, and for the next few weeks!
9th
B-C
Moon has moved to the 24th degree of Gemini, now. Moon is getting bigger, and moving away from Mar's direct
influence, so today should be good.
One thing to watch: Moon 'now' is only 7 degrees away
from Saturn, which is at the 1st degree of Cancer.
Later in the day, if you feel that Saturn, 'roughness', or
delays and things take longer than you'd like,
this is why. Be more patient, if necessary. 10th
B-A
Moon starts off the day at the 6th degree of Cancer. Moon is very happy in CAncer, so this is very positive.
Good day for communications, meetings and interactions
with people.
However, Moon is colliding with SAturn earlier, (1st deg)
of Cancer, so if that unique Saturn quality comes earlier,
this is why.
Monday Tue. Wed. Thur. Fri. Sat. Sun.
11th
B-A
Moon starts off the day at the 18th degree of Cancer. Moon is even happy in Cancer, today, so the positives of
yesterday may be continuing.
Good day for Moonish, Cancer, Happiness, and enjoying,
being with friends.
12th
B-A
Moon starts off the day at the 1st degree of Leo. Moon is strong and dynamic in Leo. Good, 'days' for Leoish
leadership. Don't let that Leoness, be too bossy. No
maleficness upon the Moon, and the Moon's very big, now!
June 13th
A
Moon starts off the day at the 12th degree of Leo. Moon is strong and dynamic continuing in Leo. Good, 'days'
for Leo energy. No malefic influences going on, now.
Monday Tue. Wed. Thur. Fri. Sat. Sun.
14th
B-A
Moon starts off at the 24th degree of Leo, now.
6 degrees of Leo, means 12 hours of Leo left. After that,
Moon moves into Virgo, which then moves into the
Rahu/Ketu, 'corrider' of 'roughness', and now, this month,
Mars is also in Pisces, aspecting Virgo, so that'll represent
an interesting few days. Moon is big, but feelings will
be up and down!
Feel free to write in with your comments and especially
experiences, of these transits.
Watch the transits, for a few months.
Keep a diary or Astrology journal, and depending upon
how regularly the Transits, seem to affect you, then,
next month, we can begin to talk about what we can do,
to minimize any of the especially trying or negative
transits.

Today,
Monday, June 6th, 2005
9am CDT
New Moon -
Heighth of...
Today, 4:55pm....CDT.....
Moon started off today, at the 17th degree of Taurus.
Which is good, because Moon's Exalted in Taurus...
However, this month, as the Sun's also in Taurus, in fact, right now, it's running about the 21st degree, also in Taurus...
Which mean's today's a New Moon!
Therefore see if you can feel that extreme inwardness of the New Moon.
This may be slightly challenging since today's for most, a Monday, and everyone always expects you to try and start accomplishing a lot early in the Week!
But, today, will really feel like one of those days, where you feel it's extremely hard to swing back into the swing of things, ie. Monday morning!....
after the weekend..
But, the real reason, this month is because it's a New Moon today!
In fact: Heighth of the New Moon is 4:55pm CDT....
(Adjust for your time zones).
See, if you also notice things starting swinging into an outward mode even as early as tonight,
and certainly tomorrow!
Swing with the Moon!
for Success, in life!

Thanks,

Dear Jana:
Sure, any positive aspect of our chart, will have it's positive influences as well.
The thing you need to ask yourself, however, is are there any expressions of the 'maleficnesses' still going on?
If you do notice any, inspite of Jupiter's or any other positive influence, then the suggestion
is to still, look into strengthening 'those malefics'!
Hope this helps...

Dear Jana:
Well, one good part of your Moon is that it is very big.
Only 1 house away from being full, so that's the good thing, but still, as long as you're developing strange and unusual thought patterns, then developing the Moon/mind, like through
meditation, could be very helpful for you.

Yes i do have a desire to lead a Perfect dharmic life and become a perfect being.Due to this i follow set ideals that most of the time confuses me when any problems arise.
Also there is an hidden tendency that expects society to respect me(which is very strong) or atleast not to treat me shabbily.
My inner war starts only when there is any external trouble/problem.
>>The key here is to strengthen, mainly Rahu & Ketu, which can be strengthened by strengthening one's inner awareness, which will also strengthen one's balance and/or SAturn.
will meditaion help.Iam practicing kundalini and Kriya yoga...Or when any problem arise should i jus let go and relax.

I will say one thing while waiting for your rising sign....
And that is, contained in your descriptions of the problem, is the planet or planets that are acting malefically.
Then, we can begin to see which planet needs strengthening!, which will solve your problem!
Mark K.
"Assuming" or "imagining" are two interesting words, Astrologically.
Also, "fear" of the outcomes of even small problems, and 'over reacting' is another choice word.
Assuming or imagining sound like Moonish words to cover mental feelings.
And your Moon with Ketu may be indicative of this.
Fortunately they're many degrees apart, I think, anyway, so this will help, though.
"fear" is definitely a Moonish word, and many times when the Moon's in the sign of either Rahu/or Ketu, unusual fears and apprehensions can pop up.
The key here is to strengthen, mainly Rahu & Ketu, which can be strengthened by strengthening one's inner awareness, which will also strengthen one's balance and/or SAturn.
Rahu & Ketu also have this binding characteristic where desires have been so pre-dominant for so long that their negative affects tend to grab us.
Making peace, then, with how we fulfill our desires, and ending obsessions, and compulsions may help too.
Do you have any of these kinds of desires, strong habits, and/or inclinations that bug you?
Sincerely,
Mark K.

And, though the debate of free will vs pre-determinism, is a very ancient and almost inexchaustible debate, still something can be done!
"The proof lies in the pudding"!,...someone said!
In other words, we don't have to solve this debate, but remedial measures and remedies
do exist and they do work!
In fact, there's a bit of revival going on right now, in the whole sphere of Vedic science about remedial measures.
From Meditation, to yoga, to Ayurved, to Yaguas, and now, even Jyotish, the whole field is full of great examples of 'remedies' working!
I'll give you one example.
Meditation used to be thought to be very difficult and generally very hard for someone to do, and to progress in.
Today, however, meditation has been revived!
It's now, taught in a more natural, effortless and effective manner.
As a result, millions of people from all over the World, all countries, in fact, have picked up the practice and are experiencing amazing results.
Check out the over 600 scientific studies that have been conducted now, on Meditation's benefits, over the last 35 years, to give concrete examples of remedies working.
(See tm.org, under scientific research for the studies).
Meditaiton, by the way is not only a great Vedic remedy, it's also a great Jyotish one as well.
In meditation, both the Sun, Moon, even Saturn are strengthened as a result of it's innocent practice.
Like this, Jyotish, now, too, is going through an amazing Revival!
When I first started studying Jyotish, over 18 years ago, now, any book that I read, whether it was 100 pages or 200, would have 95 or 195 pages on the Jyotish, and only 5 pages on the remedial measures or remedies, in the back.
It was almost like an after thought!
And the view, back then, was more depressive, skeptical, even negative in the prognosis of Jyotish solutions!
But, that's all now, begun to change.
I personally, know of hundreds of people who have been vastly improved as a result of utilizing Jyotish for it's natural remedies!
In truth, we have been born, for these self-improvements.
Take the example of a functioning Malefic Mars, in someone's chart.
Mars may be symbolic of their Mars problems, ie. accidents, anger, fights, disagreements, etc.
however, under closer scrutiny their MARS, is meant to be brought under control!
If the Mars is making us have accidents, what Nature is trying to tell us, through the avenue of these accidents is!,...we're going to fast.
And, at some point, we get it,..."wow, I'm going too fast!"
Then, we begin the process of reigning in our Mars, pitta.
In fact, if we had gone to an Ayurvedic doctor and told him we were feeling, hot and irritable and even angry; he'd have felt our pulse and might have said:
"Ahhhh, you're very imbalanced with pitta!"
Then, the problem gets treated and very quickly through the time honored techniques of Ayurved, that 'maleficall functioning' pitta, gets brought under control.
Like this, we can make remedies in our charts, and our lives!
Self-improvement is part of life, just like genetics, and pre-conditionings are.
They both exist, together.
Freedom and boundries, or causality.
Freedom and conditionings....
Tell me your date of birth, and rising sign/AScendent, and what is any area of your life you'd like
to improve, and I'll show you how it can be done!
Sincerely,
Mark Kincaid

The up-coming Saturn movement into the Sign of Cancer, on May 26th, will test this view, as to whether Saturn is a 'friend or foe'!
For many people, especially for those who already have Saturn acting malefically, this transit may be a very challenging time.
So, what can we do to make this as painless as possible and how can we even, make this period one of a Benefic Saturn, or Saturn friend!
When we look at the Saturn experiences we all go through, whether of Dasa periods or Transits, each one of us has our own unique experiences as to whether that Saturn experience is positive or negative.
Often times, when you talk to those who already have very good, or Benefic Saturns in their charts, for them, their Saturn 'periods' are indeed, positive and expressive of their Benefic Saturn status.
For the rest of us, our Saturn moments, unfortunately, are much less rosy.
However, Saturn is known as the Great Lesson giver, and what is the purpose of a lesson, but to learn that lesson!
If there are examples where some people have the Benefic Saturn experiences, then we know that Saturn can be positive. So, what can we do to make our own Saturn experiences less negative or even positive?
Each Month, the Moon goes through a kind of mini-Sade Sat experience. Every month, the Moon moves through the Signs all around wherever Saturn is also presently transiting, and in these 6-7 days, we're all given a brief Sade Sat experience.
Watching this transit, in any Month, can show you how in-tune you are with your Saturn!
When I first started watching the Transits, many years ago, now, I noticed not only was this a difficult period for me, but also for many others.
Previously I noticed that Waning and New Moon periods were very rough for me, and so I wasn't too surprised that these brief, kind of 'sade sat' periods, were rough too.
After a few years I learned how to improve my Moon and change that very strongly negative or malefic Moon Waning periods into more positive ones, so, I tried to figure out how might I better understand or even, transform, those Saturn/Moon regular transits.
As I learned to improve my own Saturn, (Saturn in the 12th house), I began to see that improvement, mirrored in my experiences of the Moon/Saturn collisions, each month.
Now, I understand that one's experience of Saturn dasas or transits, depends dramatically on how in-tune we are with our own Saturns.
Therefore if we want to make sure that future Saturn periods, like this Saturn in Cancer one, are as positive as possible, we need to take steps to make our own internal Saturns, balanced.
Now, I realize that every day, Nature or Life, or even Saturn are telling us how in-tune, we are.
If I end up staying up too late or working hard and getting either tired or stressed, I notice that those regular Moon's Waxings, New Moon, or Saturn/Moon days are more rough and distressing.
Now, as far as this up-coming Saturn in Cancer transit, goes; let me just say a few words about why this is thought generally, to be a rather challenging experience.
First of all, Saturn and Moon, are not thought to be very friendly. This is because, generally, people understand the nature of Saturn and the Moon to be too opposite. Therefore, whenever Sade Sat happens, and Saturn is transiting all around our Moons, it's generally associated with a very trying times for the individual, their Mother, and most every aspect of life!
So, generally this Saturn/Cancer period is thought to be a challenging time for pretty much everyone, as Cancer, represents the 'Home' of the Moon, and therefore this will be predominantly 'malefic' for many.
However, as our desire is to learn to bring out the positive in any and all malefic areas in our charts; this one too can be transformed!
The key is to learn to listen to what is going on inside of you!
Because the Cancer part of us, represents the home of our Moons, and as such is a very important energy, and part of our natures.
#1 Find the Cancer in your chart.
See if you can feel the nature of Cancer, there, in some area of your life!
(For me, I've learned to feel, that Cancer energy. Because I have a Libra rising, I've learned that energy is the one that's pervading my house of Career.)
Last Fall when Saturn first went into Cancer, I felt it's movement. For me, it felt like a huge boulder that was inching it's way across my career house.
My first impulse was to run all around the boulder, looking at it, and laughing, and saying: "Wow, look at that!"
Then, I noticed it stop and inch it's way back into Gemini, and I noticed that a certain amount of heaviness, or grief was diminishing as it went back out of Cancer.)
This experience pointed the way for me, that this could be a very difficult situation coming up.
But, I'd been given a great blessing too!
I now saw the danger on the horizon, and I could continue, as if, running around that huge boulder, or, I could do something differently.
See, I've been watching Saturn, closely, for over 18 years!
I remember when it was first going through Sagittarius, way back in 1988. Then I watched it go through it's Signs of Capricorn and Aquarius. Then I watched it go though Pisces, and then, Aries, it's Sign of Debilitation.
In addition to watching it go through these various signs, I tried to see if I could feel it's influences, going through the various 'Houses' of my chart, too.
So, when I 'saw' it beginning it's movement through my 10th House, I was alerted to this potential challenge.
But, because my path has led me to learn from and especially adjust whenever Saturn's involved, I had a few months to prepare and figure out how I could better experience this latest Saturn movement.
I also contemplated what the nature of Saturn in Cancer might mean.
And, whereas Saturn in most signs, already represents 'grief', or 'lessons' of those Sign-natures, for example, Saturn in Gemini, has meant for many, grief from doing too many things at once. (Which is the symbolism of Gemini).
So, for these last 2 1/2 years I've been telling people who've been experiencing this, Saturn grief of doing 'too many things at a once'. As a result I've watched people begin to learn the true symbolism of that Saturn transit!
So, don't be surprised if this present Saturn/Cancer transit, mean's something about grief, or lessons regarding too much Cancer, giving, compassion or nourishing, goings on.
Saturn often shows us where our imbalances are.
The particular flavor of this Saturn lesson is about Cancer, the mind, heart, or home of the Moon.
Therefore the first thing I want to recommend, is that we don't get out of balance, through giving too much, during this up-coming time.
We may find ourselves being sooooo busy, and especially because giving to others often feels so good and natural, we might think, this is okay.
However, be warned that Saturn's presence is both the karma and the lesson of that particular Consciousness/flavor of meaning or Cancer.
So, watch how you're feeling.
Watch how your Cancer gets affected.
Watch especially how your heart and feeling nature is, during this up-coming Transit.
If Saturn represents the areas in which we need to grow, then watch the Mind, or emotional nature, inside, to see if it's fine, or uneasy.
If you start to feel unsettled, if you notice that you begin to worry, or doubt, or feel anxieties of any kind, these are all Signs, of Saturn moving through the Sign of the Moon!
Saturn is trying to tell you where more balance is needed!
Saturn, is also indicative where we need to bring attention.
So, if you put attention on more balance, in exactly these areas of Cancer, in your chart, then, you have the greatest chance of making this 2 year transit more smooth, and in fact, profoundly Evolutionary!
Lessons of Moon.
Lessons of the Mind.
Lessons of Cancer.
These are all the symbolic meanings of Saturn moving through Cancer.
Therefore if you adjust and accept that during this time, this is when you! will choose to participate more, with this natural movement of Nature; then, this transit can be very rewarding and not malefic!
During positive or Benefic Saturn/Cancer periods, some people experience, great stillness and silence and a quiet but powerful awakening as to the depths of the Mind, heart, feelings and even Intuition!
This shows that Saturn can be positive, or 'a friend'!
For those who have good Saturns they already experience during their Saturn dasas, or Transits, that those periods are extremely positive, if in a more inward way.
So, here's hoping that all learn those lessons that are associated with this up-coming Saturn/Cancer, period, and figure out how to enjoy the positive sides of Saturn's nature, moving through the home of the Moon, heart, and intuition.

Hello Mark,
Basically, the weak functional benefics (mool sign anywhere but 6,8,12) can be strengthed. and the functional malefics should be lessened.. So let's see..the nature of the planets could be listed. Do you have such a thing online..?
Saturn, dry for example..

Dear Friends:
I've been enjoying this great group for awhile. Today, I thought it might be interesting to Introduce myself, and my special interest, "Combining Ayurved & Jyotish"...
In 1988, I was in India attending a world-wide conference on Ayurved, and at the very end of our month of Ayurved, it was announced that now, we would study Jyotish.
In fact: "Jyotish & Ayurved go hand in hand." We had a very fast introduction to the field of Vedic Astrology and it's potential uses in conjunction with Ayurved.
All month we'd been learning how to decipher a person's out of balance doshas, through the pulse, and now, with the addition of Jyotish, we were introduced to the concept of using both great Vedic strategies, at the same time.
At the end of our course, in our conclusions we broke up into groups, and some of us would feel the pulse of a person, and make some Ayurvedic diagnosis. Then, others, who were in a group, for Jyotish they would only look at his Jyotish chart, and see what the prognosis might be.
Person after person we'd 'do' would both be accurately described by their pulse and then, their Astrological charts.
Our teachers, finally said: "Ayurved & Jyotish go hand in hand. You may analysze a person through the pulse, but then, if you can verify that initial prognosis, through their charts, then, you can be very reasured that your analysis is on target."
I came back to the states after that, and started studying Jyotish, for the first time. I'd already leaned quite a bit about Ayurved, so it was amazing for me to discover the incredible parallels between people's pulses, and their charts.
Now, I believe that Ayurved is more like the wisdom and health prevention of the body, and Jyotish is something like Vedic Psychology. Therefore, Ayurved can treat the person, through the pulse and through the body while Jyotish can understand the person and treat the imbalances, in the mind, of via one's Psychology.
Now, I believe that Jyotish is truely, something like Vedic Psychology, and because the mind's so important and fundamental, even to the body, then, learning how to balance, our Planets can be a great compliment to Ayurved.
Another thing I learned is that because Ayurved is so practical, oriented, and so used to feeling the imbalances, and knowing so many treatments and remedies, that will indeed, balance those same physical cycles and doshas; Jyotish can learn a lot from Ayurved.
Presently, Jyotish has been very stuck in a deep, fatalistic belief about life, and yet, Ayurved knows that our lives are not fated, and in fact, we can easily balance the imbalances within and purify the impurities.
My hope is that someday, Jyotish, also adopt this much more healthy and progressive stance, and I believe there are many techniques and treatments that can be applied to individual's Jyotish and charts that will help them, emmensely.
For example, Ayurved understands the nature of obsessions, compulsions and addictions. Ayurved, says for example, that the 'addictions' are due to mistaken memories in the very cells of the body, that are literally driving us to make mistakes.
Ayurved then, seeks, to create balance, and expose the person and their Physiologies, to new experiences and then, subsequent memories, so those old patterns and memories, will be replaced by new ones, and then, no addictions.
Jyotish could learn a lot from this very practical nature of Ayurved. Jyotish, already has the ability to predict things like obsessions, and addictions. In fact, Jyotish understands that it's due to the presence of negative or malefic Rahu & Ketu, in people's charts that are literally responsible for these addictions.
But, Jyotish has forgotten, how to transform, the person and their Physiology or Psychology into a more balanced state, thus improving and eliminating obsessions and addictions.
When Ayurved techniques then, are combined with the prognosis of Jyotish, a tremendous synergy can result.
Would love to talk more, to anyone who's interested in these 2 great Vedic sciences....
Sincerely,
Mark Kincaid

Dear Mark,
I think you are absolutely right, I feel very tensed
and exhausted these days. Now I understand its because
of the moon. How to know the Moon's cycle?
I was thinking all this while that may be astrology is
not 100% accurate science and if a person has strong
will, he can influence his bad planents too. I still
think to some extent that its true but planents cast a
very powerful shadow on human beings, there is no
doubt about that.
Pankaj
Dear Pankaj:
You can follow my Star Reports: Transits, which I generally do a Month At A Glance.
Right now, I've just sent out the first week of June, and will finish the rest, soon.
In those reports not only do I describe in each day, where the Moon is, but I describe how to be more in-tune with all the planets.
If you want to especially be sure to get all the Transits, newsletters I write sign up at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/naturesastrology1/
However, there's also an easier thing to follow:
Most calendars have the 4 main periods of the Moon.
For example, in the calendar on my desk, it shows where the New Moon is (June6th), then, the 1/2 full First Quarter, (15th), the Full Moon, (on the 22nd), and even the next 1/2 Full, Last Quarter, of 1/2 Empty, (on the 28th).
Watch how you feel as the Moon waxes and Wanes!
If you notice that you feel better when the Moon's Waxing, or getting bigger , and less so, as it get's smaller, then, Strengthening the Moon!
is one of the things you're meant to do.
Then, over the next few months, seek to be more in-tune with that big, beautiful Moon, out there!
For example, Moon's Waning now, in fact, only 3 days before the New Moon.
So, lean towards resting more, now! Get more rest, sleep at night. Resist the tendency to try to do all the things that are always there to do!
And, enjoy taking it more easy.
I've noticed that the need and the tendency is there in my body. At various times and stages of my growing awareness and strengthening of My Moon!, I noticed, that if I just paid attention to what was there,
is my body....
in my heart....
I could feel what Nature was telling me, I needed.
Learn to follow nature's prompts!
I noticed, then, that during the whole Waning part, my body, increasingly feels more like resting!
I noticed, it, as if, seems to be curling up, or turning inwards...
Whereas, during the Waxing part, it's all out there, dynamic, robust, full of drive and enthuiasm and energy.
So, I learned to be more in-tune with these 2 basic cycles,.... and over time, I noticed an amazing difference on my emotional, Moonish level!
I became more well rested.
I noticed feeling stronger.
I noticed things didn't affect me so intensely.
I even noticed feeling more and more intuitive!
So, the Moon can be strengthened, and learning to be more in-tune with the actual, Moon, out there, is one very powerful way to do it!
Sincerely,
Mark Kincaid

In Jyotish the Cosmic Year begins on the first day that the Sun returns to the lst degrees of Aries.
We can celebrate the New Year, on this day.
It's especially nice to celebrate the New Year, when the Spring is coming,
and the harher Winter is done.
Enjoy this wonderful look at what's going to be happening with the Stars!
for you, this up-coming year.
Sincerely,
Mark Kincaid
Please open page to it's full extent.
Month of June, 2005
Begins....
Month at a Glance...
Ratings:
A = Very Auspicious
B = Good
C = Medium
D = Delicate
E = Dangerous
Times listed in CDT, or Central Daylight Savings, U.S. since April 2nd.
Please adjust for different Time Zones.
General Highlights Starting the Year & Now, June,
Sun moved into Aries, on April 13th, which represents the Sun's happiest place to
be in Exalted Aries!
Since then, Sun has moved into Taurus where today, it's already up to the 17th degree
of Taurus.
Main Weaknesses, right now:
Saturn recently moved 'back' into Cancer, where it tends to act malefically anyway,
but at this time, it then, continues negatively aspecting Jupiter, which is moving
through the Sign of Virgo.
This negative transit, will go on until Sept. of 2005.
Today, June 1st the Moon is Waning and starts off the day, (9am CDT, US), at the 13th
degree of Pisces. Because the Sun's in Taurus, this represents the Moon, moving through
the final quarter of it's Waning Cycle.
The next week then, will see an increasing small Moon which will culminate in the New
Moon on June 6th.
See if you notice a 'waning'ness in your own life and activity.
Most people who suffer any negative results do so, often, because they don't shift with
the Moon.
Allow yourself to be more inward, and more restful during these last few days of the
Moon's cycle.
After that, the Moon will burst out from the Sun and begin's it's next Great, Outward,
dynamic Waxing Cycle.
Be, in-tune with the Moon!
Watch how you feel over these next 6 days.
If you feel more tired, less energy, and any qualities of uneasiness, worries or
anxieties, this may be due to 'Not' paying enough attention to the Moon!
Rest, as the Moon, Wanes!
Do, as the Moon, Waxes!
Rest & Activity.....
This is one of the reasons why the Western non-Astrological Calendar is so misleading.
Many people feel like their Month's begin on the first, but it's not true.
Nature follows the Sun and the Moon, and if we learn to live our lives around the Moon
cycle, especially, we'll be a lot more Happy! and Successful!
June 2005
Sun's moving through the 17th degree of Taurus, starting today, through the rest
of Taurus, and then into Gemini on June 14th.
Moon's Waning now, till the New Moon on June 6th.
Then the Moon begin's it's Waxing cycle, from New Moon until the Full Moon on June
22nd!
So, Moon's finishing up Aries, and still Waning, very, very tiny,
now.
Sun.
5th
B -A Moon moves into Taurus, which is very
good today! Moon's Exalted in Taurus, so
the next few days are very Auspicious.
Hence A! However, during this time of the
year, the Sun's also in Taurus, so this very
Special Exlated Moon, time, is also very
unusual because the Moon's on the verge
of being nill, or New Moon, (tomorrow),
so you'll notice this mixture of positive
and negative. Though the New, very small
Moon period does not have to be negative if
we rest during this time!
Taurus, it's Own sign.
Monday Tue. Wed. Thur. Fri. Sat. Sun.
June 6th
NEW MOON
TODAY! B-A Moon begin's at the 17th degree of Taurus, today.
Sun's at the 21st degree, so only 10 hours away
from the Heighth of the New Moon. 5pm Heighth of the New Moon, CDT (US 6th time zone)
Adjust for your Time Zones.
Tue.
7th
B-A
New Moon ended yesterday, Waxing Moon Cycle Begins, today! Moon begin's the day at the beginning of Gemini. Waxing!
Though Moon still very small.
*Mercury and Venus are in an interesting Exchange of Signs, now.
Mercury's in Gemini, and Venus is in Taurus' Sign. So, there's this great positivity
between thinking (Mercury) & Feeling, (Venus).
Rest of the Month will come in the next day or so.
Feel free to write in with your comments and especially experiences,
of these transits.
Watch the transits, for a few months.
Keep a diary or Astrology journal, and depending upon how regularly the
Transits, seem to affect you, then,
next month, we can begin to talk about what we can do, to minimize any
of the especially trying or negative transits.
Sincerely,

Basically, the weak functional benefics (mool sign anywhere but
6,8,12) can be strengthed. and the functional malefics
should be lessened.. So let's see..the nature of the planets could be
listed. Do you have such a thing online..?
Saturn, dry for example..
which has over 1600 members discussing all aspects of Ayurved.

Dear Friends:
I've been enjoying this great group for awhile. Today, I thought
it might be interesting to Introduce myself, and my special interest,
"Combining Ayurved & Jyotish"...
In 1988, I was in India attending a world-wide conference on Ayurved,
and at the very end of our month of Ayurved, it was announced that now,
we would study Jyotish.
In fact: "Jyotish & Ayurved go hand in hand." We had a
very fast introduction to the field of Vedic Astrology and it's
potential uses in conjunction with Ayurved.
All month we'd been learning how to decipher a person's out of balance
doshas, through the pulse, and now, with the addition of Jyotish, we
were introduced to the concept of using both great Vedic strategies, at
the same time.
At the end of our course, in our conclusions we broke up into groups,
and some of us would feel the pulse of a person, and make some
Ayurvedic diagnosis. Then, others, who were in a group, for
Jyotish they would only look at his Jyotish chart, and see what the
prognosis might be.
Person after person we'd 'do' would both be accurately described by their pulse and then, their Astrological charts.
Our teachers, finally said: "Ayurved & Jyotish go hand in
hand. You may analysze a person through the pulse, but then, if
you can verify that initial prognosis, through their charts, then, you
can be very reasured that your analysis is on target."
I came back to the states after that, and started studying Jyotish, for
the first time. I'd already leaned quite a bit about Ayurved, so
it was amazing for me to discover the incredible parallels between
people's pulses, and their charts.
Now, I believe that Ayurved is more like the wisdom and health
prevention of the body, and Jyotish is something like Vedic Psychology.
Therefore, Ayurved can treat the person, through the pulse and
through the body while Jyotish can understand the person and treat the
imbalances, in the mind, of via one's Psychology.
Now, I believe that Jyotish is truely, something like Vedic Psychology,
and because the mind's so important and fundamental, even to the body,
then, learning how to balance, our Planets can be a great compliment to
Ayurved.
Another thing I learned is that because Ayurved is so practical,
oriented, and so used to feeling the imbalances, and knowing so many
treatments and remedies, that will indeed, balance those same physical
cycles and doshas; Jyotish can learn a lot from Ayurved.
Presently, Jyotish has been very stuck in a deep, fatalistic belief
about life, and yet, Ayurved knows that our lives are not fated, and in
fact, we can easily balance the imbalances within and purify the
impurities.
My hope is that someday, Jyotish, also adopt this much more healthy and
progressive stance, and I believe there are many techniques and
treatments that can be applied to individual's Jyotish and charts that
will help them, emmensely.
For example, Ayurved understands the nature of obsessions, compulsions
and addictions. Ayurved, says for example, that the 'addictions'
are due to mistaken memories in the very cells of the body, that are
literally driving us to make mistakes.
Ayurved then, seeks, to create balance, and expose the person and their
Physiologies, to new experiences and then, subsequent memories, so
those old patterns and memories, will be replaced by new ones, and
then, no addictions.
Jyotish could learn a lot from this very practical nature of Ayurved.
Jyotish, already has the ability to predict things like
obsessions, and addictions. In fact, Jyotish understands
that it's due to the presence of negative or malefic Rahu & Ketu,
in people's charts that are literally responsible for these addictions.
But, Jyotish has forgotten, how to transform, the person and their
Physiology or Psychology into a more balanced state, thus improving and
eliminating obsessions and addictions.
When Ayurved techniques then, are combined with the prognosis of Jyotish, a tremendous synergy can result.
Would love to talk more, to anyone who's interested in these 2 great Vedic sciences....
Moon starts off today, at 11th degree of Aquarius, now, (9am CDT) US.
This means the Moon's just beginning the final Quarter of it's Waning Cycle.
Watch how you feel over the next week, culminating in the New Moon on June 6th!
If you feel, listless, or low energy, and especially more worried, uneasy, and emotional, these
are good signs that you need to strengthen your Moon, more!
All the malefic symbolisms of any of the Planets, even, are really indicative of where we need to grow!
Pay attention to the Transits, for a month or 2, and you'll have a much better handle on which
where you need to strengthen, which planets!

There's an astrological perspective, an appreciation of the significance of the inherent meaning
of our Stars, that's a natural value judgement.
Such and such (Astrological configurations), are good, and such and such are bad.
Even people who don't understand Astrology, or their inherent symbolisms, still are living the realities of these Astrological forces.
In pre-Astrology or pre-Jyotish, there's an astrological meaning inside of us where Nature herself, seems to play the role of Guru.
In those that don't consciously understand their Astrological forces, Nature is the one that's giving back the inherent meanings, ie. consequences, of our actions, choices, and pursuits.
Maybe we're having a lot of accidents, or are prone to fits of anger, or irritability, even blaming others, full of resentment, and the like.
We may not understand intellectually our Astrological forces or 'Chart' but we are certainly living the realities of those forces.
At some point we may finally 'get it', that we're the one's that need to change.
We may realize that we've got to slow down, or learn to dissipate our anger and that we are the real source of our irritableness, blaming, resentment, and the like.
What happened, why did we change?
We changed because we don't like pain!
We changed because we don't like suffering, having accidents, disappointments, frustrations and the like.
The inherent meaning of our Astrological lives are happening already, even before we consciously come to understand them, intellectually.
What happens however when we make a conscious effort to understand the rules, principles, and ideas of Astrology, is that we begin to live our lives more on the level of knowledge, and not just on the level of experimentation.
Then, when we read about our Mars, or kuja dosha, or malefically functioning Mars, suddenly it all makes sense.
Ahhh, that's why I was having so many accidents, and heat rashes, irritability, blaming others, angry, and on and on.
But, the end result is the same. Whether we get it, from Nature, kind of accidentally, or come to understand ourselves and our situation, through the wisdoms of Astrology; still, at some point we come to realize, ...."I'm the one that has to change my ways!"
So, we find ways to balance Mars.
Maybe we're told to wear red coral.
Or, maybe we're told to do this Mars mantra.
Or, maybe we're just told to learn to slow down or be less Marish!
Whatever the Astrological 'remedy' the point is we try and balance ourselves, to change ourselves, in such a way that that pain or uncomfortableness goes away.
I remember in my life, where I used to have lots of accidents. I had my first one, (in career), almost 30 years ago. I had a friend hold a ladder while I climbed up it. At the top, (I was trying to fix the ladder extension, on the top), my friend lost his hold and I came tumbling down, about 12 feet.
A number of years later, I'm remodeling this house, and I'm rushing to get the project done. The general contractor's in a hurry, urging us to go faster and faster and, I'm up for the challenge. I put one of my scaffoldings, up, (ladders & planks), and then I think, "mmmm, if I can find another plank, to put up next to the first scaffolding, then I can get it done even faster!"
Well, I'm scrambling faster and faster, and then, suddenly I find the scaffolding falling out, from underneath myself. 32 feet this time. Oh, my,..... I think.... Actually, everyone tells me later, they hear only this expression: "OHHHHHHH SHHHHHHITTTTTTT!" coming reverberating from around the house.
I and all my equipment, ladders, scaffolding, everything, come tumbling down, and I land in the mud, on my butt, with all the equipment falling all around me.
When they take me to the hospital to patch up this one hole in my leg, and check me out, I'm thinking "why did this happen to me?" I'd been studying Jyotish now, for about 4 years, and I knew my dasas and transits. None of them were related to my Mars, so why?
Later, it occurred to me, "Oh, my goodness, it's in my chart, that I go too fast?" I have Mars/Cancer in my 10th, and I've always had accidents in career.
But, now I thought "It's in my chart, itself, so maybe always I have a tendency to go too fast, and maybe that tendency is worse, during different dasas and transits, but maybe, just maybe I can gain advantage by knowing this."
Well, that was over 13 years ago, now, and I'm happy to say, since that time, now, I haven't had one single accident.
What happened?
Did it just get, evolved, by itself?
Or, did I participate in the realization that I'm accident prone?
Nature herself, was trying to tell me, but I didn't really get it, until I learned through Jyotish, or Astrology, that Mars was over there, and not so good, and maybe that was the reason why I was having so many accidents.
Then, it just came to me. I'm supposed to change my thinking, in this way!
I'm supposed to learn to adjust. That's what the natural symbolism of accidents is all about, anyway, and Jyotish already is saying that this problem is due to this weak, malefically functioning Mars.
So, I guess I'm supposed to go slower!
Sounds stupid, now, of course, but at the time, it wasn't and in truth, the nature of all our malefics, 'grab us', because of their very malefic, and concealing/binding nature.
Our benefics, though we're living them, just as naturally and effortlessly; don't' get us into trouble.
In fact, through them, we spontaneously do the right thing, and enjoy the natural, and positive consequences of their natures.
I had a couple of what I now realize are benefics. Everyone has some!
Mine were Jupiter in Pisces, and Sun in Leo. Now, I understand in those aspects of myself, I did get wonderfully positive results.
But, in all the rest, whew!, what a contrast to the nature of my few benefics.
But, then I began to study Jyotish, and especially the meanings of Exalted Planets really charmed me. I would read about so-called Exalted Planets and then I started meeting people who had those Exalted Planets.
I especially have this one Exalted Saturn friend who I noticed every time I was around her, I'd feel soooo settled, even peaceful, and patient. Over time, it slowly began to occur to me, "hey, I can be like that!"
That was the beginning of my real appreciation and growth of the Saturn, within me. Previously Saturn was another of my abundant list of malefics, hehe!
Saturn was in my 12th house, and even though it was supposed to be this great Yogakaraka, being I have a Libra Rising, still, the symbolisms of my Saturn, in the 12th, seemed to be very clearly symbolic of all the grief, losses, frustrations, delays, disappointments, and the like, that I experienced.
"But, I can be like that!", was the beginning of my Saturn shift.
Suddenly it had become clearer to me, that we're supposed to be refining and improving our malefic situations.
In real life, whether we're accident prone, or prone to sickness, at some point we can get it: "Hey I've got to learn about health!"
Maybe we start reading up all about health, or maybe we read an Ayurvedic book, on balancing the doshas, and getting more in-tune with all the cycles of life.
Did you know there's a daily cycle?
There are in fact, even mini-cycles throughout the day.
There's something called a pitta cycle, which occurs naturally around 12 noon, each day.
This is why it's so natural to eat, during this time. The natural 'pitta' energy of the day, is so high that it's extremely beneficial to eat and metabolize food.
This is why it's not thought to be so healthy to eat at night, or right before bed.
Wow, who would ever have guessed, that there was a real reason behind my parents telling me to do this or that, and go to bed early!
I always hated going to bed early. All of my life, I was a nite owl, and didn't like to go to bed earlier. Then, even when I heard that it was better for one, to go to bed earlier, before 10pm, so that one is asleep during the natural kapha cycle of the later evening; I found it very hard for me to do that.
Then, I studied my chart, and realized why. My Saturn, which is probably the planet that governs routines, cycles and rhythms, being in my 12th house; the inherent wisdoms of Saturn, were lost to me.
So, I started studying those rhythms more, and began my search for whether I could change those tendencies within me.
Of course I found staying up late, was not all that it was cracked up to be. I always felt a bit drained, the later I stayed up. Then, I would notice that sometimes, I'd have times when I did go to bed, more early, and I noticed, that I really felt marvelous that next day!
So, we're living these Astrological forces. They pervade each and every part of ourselves. Our Psychology, even our bodies, our Physiology, are a flood of Astrological qualities, tendencies, and inclinations.
But, Jyotish has a value system. Such and such an Astrological configuration is good, while such and such is not so good.
What is this for?
Now, I understand that this value judgement is so that we learn to stop feeding, supporting or creating our negative or malefic tendencies. In addition, as we gain the perspective that certain of our own tendencies are incorrect, then we can consciously begin the process of re-learning those, so-called malefic ones.
For me, I had already been in the process of realizing that my Mars impulse was too much, or too fast. Already Nature had been trying to show me, that my Saturn was out of balance and that I needed to improve my Saturn sense.
But, nothing can compare to discovering consciously that there is an inherent meaning in the symbolisms of our charts.
When I realized that these symbolisms; positive and negative really did fit me well, I thought: "There must be a meaning to these symbolisms?"
Though it took me a long time to discover these, still at some point I got it. The benefics don't need to change, they're already good, balanced, or naturally positive. In fact I realized, in those areas of my 'few', hehe, benefics I did enjoy some small measure of joy and success.
Now, I tell people where they have their own benefics: "Learn to understand and utilize your benefic strengths, more!"
But, maybe, now, just maybe, we're supposed to also gain some learning from our malefics.
Maybe we're meant to change those things, that are presently corresponding to our unhappy, disappointing, frustrating, grievous, and suffering characteristics.
Certainly our malefics do, already, correspond with our unhappinesses.
So, maybe, just maybe, these same malefics are really trying to tell us, something that we haven't quite gotten so far?
Maybe there's a truth to the old adage: "There's a blessing, there in disguise!"
You'll hear this sometimes, in those that got held back from what they thought they wanted, or after some personal loss, tragedy, and the like.
Upon reflecting upon their demise, and even loss, suddenly sometimes, you'll hear people say: "Now I realize it was really for good!"
Wow, what an expression. Who could ever believe that getting sick, and in the bed, for 2 weeks, or even the hospital, could have a happy result?
Though, it's not because of the suffering that a good, benefic consequence comes out of it.
It's because we begin to see the light, as to the fact, that we're supposed to refine our physical motion, or be more cognizant of needing more rest and going to bed earlier, and taking better care of ourselves. Suddently we do, just get it; there is an inherent meaning even in our sufferings and losses.
But maybe, just maybe, there's a real symbolism there within our malefics, that's really, our "blessings in disguise"?
Now, looking back in retrospect, I can say, this is really a very easy thing to verify.
Stay up late for 2, 3, even 4 nites in a row, and watch how that affects you.
You'll feel tired, the first day, more irritable and snappy, the second, then, even a little angry the 3rd, and finally by the 4th day, almost ill, and wasted kind of feelings and reality.
Then, take the opposite tact, and get more rest, for 2, 3, even 4 days in a row.
The first day, you feel a little better. The second, you start to feel strangely kind of normal. Then, the 3rd and 4th days, you begin to feel a wholeness, a reserve, an inner strength, that you haven't had for.... you don't even know how long.
What happened?
What's going on, in such experiences?
In the first one, we're actually undermining the very Saturn, balance inside of us.
As a result of this strain, staying up too late, not being in-tune with the natural rhythms, or cycles of nature, or the day, or ourselves, we immediately begin experiencing the greater, malefic nature of our Saturns.
We feel uneasy, we begin to feel unsettled, and then, quickly we feel listless, imbalanced, and finally become sick.
So, what's happening when we make a conscious stab at being more in-tune, over those days?
We're actually strengthening our Saturn by getting more rest, re-chargeing the batteries a little, functioning more and more regularly, in-tune with Nature, with that daily cycle, and even our own, Physiology.
So, maybe, just maybe there's a different symbolism there, within especially our malefic ones that maybe, just maybe we're meant to unfold.
Once you start on this path, you'll find yourself, discovering the most amazing pearls of Wisdom.
Can it be this easy?, you think. Can this really be the reason why I've been experiencing all my problems, challenges, griefs, disappointments, and sufferings?
Well, take a few steps in this direction.
Identify your Malefics, whether they're Mars, Saturn, or Moon, Venus or Jupiter.
See, if you can not only understand why they're malefic, but now, seek to understand how they might become more benefic!
Fortunately, we have this great perspective from Jyotish, itself.
We already have the knowledge and consequences of Benefic Jupiters, Venus', Mercuries and Moons.
We also, have, already, some ideas and descriptions of what the so-called natural malefics like Mars and Saturn might be like in their more balanced, healthy, Own Signs, or Exalted states.
Maybe then, there's a message there, for us, within our own, functional malefics.
I certainly hope so. Otherwise, life would be so cruel, if we were only supposed to experience the consequences of our mistakes, and not be able to learn the lessons of our challenges.
Fortunately, life is very kind. Life is not just about punishment. In fact, at this very moment, Nature can forgive us our trespasses, and those that trespass, against us.
In this very moment, if we create a new, better, more life-supporting, and more positive action, thought or perception, immediately, life will take that new action, and begin creating for you a new, more positive, and uplifting consequence.
It's called karma, or "as you sow, so shall you reap."
Figure out a way, any way, to become more in-tune with the truerer, benefic nature of any and all of your functional malefics, and immediately, you will feel better!
We actually, are born for this realization.
Unfortunately, it's kind of become forgotten.
Now, today, in this special light of increasing positive value from many of the other Vedic sciences; like meditation, yoga, and Ayurved, now, we can take solace and begin our own Vedic revival in this very important field of Jyotish.
Jyotish, too can become a knowledge of renewal, of transformation, and life affirming, progress, and prosperity.
The key, is we have only to learn how to un-learn our maleifics, and begin experiencing and enjoying their naturally benefic status, and we will find ourselves, living the truest life, that we were actually meant to live!
Here's a recent conversation I had to the yahoo group: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/ayurvedaonline/

Well, did you survice the always interesting Full Moon, though in Scorpio.
It's always a bit strange, when the Moon's both Full, and yet, debilitated.
Now, the Moon's technically Waning, as the Moon moves into Sagittarius.
However, you may notice that sweeter, Sagittarian, Jupiterish, quality over the next
few days.
Saturn's also in Gemini,.... so, normally, you'd start to feel that influence in about 1 1/2 days, from now, but today, Wed. 5/25.... at 22:00 evening hours, here, CDT, Saturn makes it transition, back into Cancer!
So, Hopefully, you're ready for this big, TRANSIT!
Saturn in Cancer, is often, heavy and uncomfortable for many people, so if you feel any of that
Saturn uncomfortableness, now, and over the next 2 years, this may be why.
Over the next few weeks we'll talk about what you can do to minimize it's potential, negative influence.
