It is possible to have spondylosis or stenosis in other spots of your back, but just because it's in your neck doesn't mean it necessarily is that. If you have chronically tight muscles in your neck and shoulders the rest of your back will tend to want to compensate for awhile. When it can't anymore is when it will also hurt in "new" places.
That being said, I would still have it checked by your doctor just to be sure. I blew off mid back pain for a long time because my doc and I assumed it was related to my neck and shoulder muscles being in constant spasm. We were both wrong, it actually is a bunch of bulging disks that sit up against my spinal cord when they get inflamed. I'm not having anything done about it since I'm not keen on the idea of thoracic surgery at 30, but it's good to know where it stands so it can be monitored.
