I am new to this group. Just posting this because it might help someone. Not too
sure if cervical spondylosis can be cured by taking pain killers or anti
inflammtory tablets.

I am from India and been suffering from cervical spondylosis since 3 months.
Problem was with C5 - C6 vertibrae and the pain was radiating to left hand and
my shoulders as the nerve root was getting compressed .I started consuming 75%
raw food since 3 months, but did not try any pain killers or anti inflammatory
medicines. The pain was severe and i was suffering everyday.
Just about 15 days back i went to a doctor of whose family tradition was dealing
with ayurveda and siddha medicines which are traditional indian medicines. He
goes into the forest to collect his own medicines. He first told me he wouldnt
give any guarentee if i had let a surgeon touch my spinal cord. Fortunately i
had not tried going to a surgeon for disc replacement. He asked me to first stop
eating anything sour i.e citrus fruits etc for his medicines to work. He has
advised me to take his medicines for atleast 6 to 9 months and gave me a
combination of ayurvedic medicines and his own capsules. He told me they did not
have any side effects as it was totally made of plants. He told me the problem
is with the nerve root and has to expand so that the blood flow into hands or
legs from the spinal cord is not restricted. I did not believe him but decided
to carry on with the treatment as i was not sure pain killers or other
allopathic medicines helped here.
He also cautioned me that the pain would increase and then decrease. He also
told me sometimes it would take about a month or two for his medicines to start
working on the body but asked me to wait patiently as the problem would be cured
forever. I was sceptical but decided to go on with the treatment.
I have been taking his medicines for 15 days and following diet he prescribed.
First week the pain increased and it was severe but i continued. Now after 15
days it is surprising I dont have pain anymore in my neck. It's like it is gone.
I dont know if this is a permanant cure but will continue his medicines for
another 6 months for sure. It's really nice to be pain free after long 3 months
of pain.
I am not yet sure if i am cured because i am planning to take this medication
for a period of 6 months. Right now i dont have pain since more than 5 days. I
also did not take medication for 2 days to check if i am pain free due to
medication, but still dont feel any pain in the neck. So i guess it's working.
Will continue this for totally 6 months and if i am good and free of pain, i
will post here :)
