Hello Everyone;
I am new here and want to introduce myself.
I have lived with osteoarthritis of the lumbar spine for 20 years. I
have used a power wheelchair for the last 15 years. I am grateful
for the power chair as it permits me to be fully involved in the
community and to live independently.
I have recently been diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the cervical
spine with resulting spinal stenosis and nerve impingement. Surgery
is not an option for me.
I know from experience that peer support can greatly enhance the
lives of with disabilities or chronic health conditions.
I joined this group with the hope of learning how others meet the
daily challenges of living with osteoarthritis of the cervical
spine.
One of the tips I heard was to put the cat's litter box on a
cardboard carton to make it easier to clean, and, to put the cat's
food and water bowls on an old coffee table instead of on the floor.
Sure makes things easier for me.
I did a wonderful year long chronic pain management and also the
Arthritis Self Management Program.
I believe we must each manage our own chronic conditions.
