Welcome Maura. I guess what you are in for depends largely on your age/experience and whether or not you have had children already or not. If the lesion was 3 cm, that explains why you need the radiation and chemo with it. It sounds like it is pretty deep. I was lucky in that mine was caught Stage 1B invasive, and only about 1 cm, so I just had to have the hysterectomy (all nodes were thankfully clear). But unfortunately, I was a 26 year old newlywed with no children yet. It has been 8.5 years cancer free now for me, but I still find it hard when I have to watch a close friend or co-worker go through pregnancy. I hope you can focus on your health alone, rather than the added grief of infertility. If you ever need someone to chat with, feel free to email.

Today I got the news that I have cervical cancer, a 3cm anterior mass
on my cervix. I am told that a hysterectomy, than radiation and chemo
to follow is whats ahead in the next few weeks.
I have no doubt that I will survive this, in fact I am looking forward
to coming out of this, stronger and better than ever. I'd just like to
find someone who's gone through this, so I can get a better idea of
what I'm up against. The Dr.'s are good about the technicals, I'd like
to know some of the personal experience.
Thanks in advance
Love & Light
Maura
