Hello,
I just thought I'd share a positive experience!
I had my LEEP done today by my Doctor in the hospital. I chose to go
under general anesthesia so I wouldn't be awake for the surgery. If
you have to have a LEEP, I highly recommend that! I feel quite
certain that it was less traumatic than it would've been if I'd been
awake and aware. I was awake 15 minutes after the surgery was over,
and in recovery and heading home within an hour after it was over.
My surgery was over at 1:05, and I'm home relaxing and watching
movies. I've been sleepy due to the anesthesia, but not even crampy
yet. I took 800 mg of advil as I left the hospital and I've felt
fine. No major discharge-yet. I hear that's surely coming.
The best part is, my Doctor says that he didn't see any signs of
cancer, which means we caught it and I'm okay. I have to wait for
official word from the pathologist, which takes two weeks and I'll
hear about that on my follow-up in two weeks. Then paps every three
months for two years, and then every six months for the three years
after that.
I send you all positive thoughts and healthy vibes. I hope you are
all doing really well.
