I am going to copy an emila that I sent another group that I am in.
Thank you all in advance for reading this.
Well everyone, I got a call from my doctor yesterday. They had the
results from my two biopsies I had taken. I have moderate diplaysia
and I have to go in to get a LEEP procedure done.
I don't know if I told you this story or not but here goes. A year
ago when I had my pap smear done the nurse practitioner said my
cervox looked irritated and that she wouldn't be surprised that it
came back positive for abnormal cells. WEll that test was negative
and I was also Neg. to HPV. WEll when I went in a couple months ago
to get my yearly pap, the same lady said everythign looks fine I
dont anticipate anything being wrong. Then I get the call that I
have to get the colposcopy done. While I was there the doctor this
time tells me that I was positive for low grade HPV last time and
that they made a mistake when they told me I was Neg. Well obviously
this got me upset. Then he tells me that now I am also positive for
high grade HPV that is why they are doing the biopsies.
He took the biopsies and said he didn't expect it to be any more
then mild displaysia, (there are three "grades" of displaysia, mild,
moderate, and high) in which case we would do nothing but watch and
do paps every couple months. Well now wiht the news about having
moderate, I am really upset. How can they tell me everything is
going to be fine they don't expect anything to be wrong and now
this?! I wonder if this is just the standard thing they tell to
people. But I don';t like it. When I got out of the colpscopy, I
said " the doc said he doesn't think it will be anything, but you
watch just like the pap it will be positive" and now look.
If any of you have had this procedure done I would appreicate any
ifo on it. Thanks for reading this long post but I really needed
someone to talk to about this.
Mary
Again, Thank you.
