First off, I am glad I found this group, but I see it is for only
who have cancer. I do not have it, but my mom does. I have been very
worried about her and looking for some straight answers. Figured if
I joined a group that all know what I am talking about, then I can
get some advice.I am sorry for intruding.
Ok, My name is Kim and I am a sahm to 3 kids.My mom was diagnosed
with cervical cancer 4 years ago. They told us she would have 4
years to live. She started kemo, and radiation which burned up her
whole insides. She had to have a hysterectomy and a colonosocopy.
They told us she would have 6 months. Now, this past New years, she
went in and we were told she had 2 weeks. A terrible thing to hear,
we were planning the worst. She has been hanging on and then
developed an infection and lost alot of weight. Went down to 88
pounds and she is 5/3.She has this pick line that was in her arm and
got infected so they moved it last week into her chest. Along with
that she had her kidneys almost fail. This week, she was readmitted
for bleeding, and they don't know where. She was sent home today and
is on meds to try and stop it. I was told if it doesn't help, she
will then need a blood transfusion. This is all new to me. Can
someone tell me if this is the end? how much longer? Is she going to
recover? I have 3 children and I am so worried about them losing
their grandma, so early on. Can someone PLEASE write me back and let
me know anything. Or what to expect next? Any thoughts and advice
welcome. Thank you, and I am so sorry for joining for my mom and not
myself. Although, this info is for me not her. She has no clue.
Thanks, Kim
