Dear Cervical Cancer Sufferers.
Please check this link

CERVICAL CANCER IS NOT A SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEAESE.
There are three types of Cervical Cancer, one type, squamous cell
carcinoma has been seen to be linked to certain strains of HPV. As
many woman have HPV as get the Common Cold. If HPV caused Cervical
Cancer there would be an epidemic.
It is possible to either have HPV and not get cancer or to have
Cervical Cancer and not have HPV. I know people who this applies to.
Our bodies are less able to fight cancer for various reasons. Stress
is a contributary factor, as can be smoking, hpv, and genetics.
I found the ignorance in this posting offensive, not because it is a
dating agency nor because it deals with STDs and HIV but because they
thought a cervical cancer group was an appropriate place to
advertise.
Yes our experiences are unique but we are not facing the similar
problems they are suggesting. Apart from perhaps IGNORANCE.
LADIES fighting this disease, you are doing a great job trying to get
better, you really do not need to see this type of C**P setting your
mind on yet another rollercoaster ride.
Talk to your Families, Friends, Coleagues, try to share your
experience you have nothing to be ashamed of.
STD and HIV sufferers, I am sorry you are suffering in this way, If I
chose to join a dating agency It would not be one that gave me a
label that many people in society do not understand. I would discuss
my concerns and the issues in a closed group that gave me strength to
face the whole world, not just people with the same disease as me.
Yes I do belong to a closed yahoo group and sexual identity
frequently enters the forum.
I have been treated for Cervical Cancer, my treatment included A
Radical Hysterectomy including removing a third of my Vagina, 27
Lymph Nodes in the Pelvic area, my Ovaries, Fallopian Tubes and as
much adjoining flesh as possible. This was followed six weeks later
with 35 hours of Brachytherapy, an internal radiation treatment that
basically slowly burnt the middle third of my Vagina.
I am a teacher of Health and Social Care.
Take care
Hugs from Julia
