I personally think the hyst would be the best thing to do. Although any
surgery is risky, if it is done vaginally (mine was), it really isn't bad.
I had a 6 week recovery, and couldn't lift more than 10 pounds (that was the
tough part since I had an 15 pound six month old at the time). I guess her
health needs to be evaluated to see if surgery is too risky for her or not.
But I think if she gets the green light on surgery, the long term benefits
of the hyst would likely be the best way to go.
Best of luck to you and your mom.

Subject: [Cervical-Cancer] new, need help
Hello,
My 66-year-old mother was just diagnosed with cervical cancer, and
she is weighing the options of having a hysterectomy or doing
radiation. Can anyone who has gone through the radiation please tell
me what to expect as far as side effects? She's not in very good
health to begin with, so whatever she does will be hard on her.
Thanks,
D
