You get your results immediately..but I don't know about the review and flash cards. Would love to hear from anyone who's used them. I did my ACSM about 2 years ago and have a friend who is studying for it now.
Let us know......

Subject: Re: [Certified-Personal-Trainer] ACSM study materials
Dina,
I have the books you suggested. I saw on the internet that a company called Morrison-Media had a review course and flash cards. I didn't know if these were worth using.
One last question--once the test is completed, are the results of the test posted?
Thanks
Penny

Hey Penny. I use Guidelines for Exercise Testing & Prescription, Certification review book, & Resource Manual for Guidelines for Exercise testing & prescription. I really enjoyed my materials & within the first few pages I gained so much knowledge. You can look at them on http://www.lww.com & the set is about $120, I was able to get mine new on amazon & saved about $35-40.There are 125-150 questions on the exam & you'll have 2.5 hours to complete it.Exam Blue Prints
The approximate distribution of exam questions across each KSA competency area for each ACSM certification exam is as follows:
KSAs Competency Area
Certified Personal TrainerSM
Exercise Prescription (Training) and Programming 28% Exercise Physiology and Related Exercise Science 24% Health Appraisal and Fitness Exercise Testing 13% Clinical and Medical Considerations 10% Nutrition and Weight Management 9% Safety, Injury Prevention and Emergency Procedures 8% Human Behavior 4% Program Administration, Quality Assurance, and Outcome Assessment 4%Hope that helps a little,Dina

materials? If so, which do you like?
Another question: how many questions are on the test?
Thanks
