Abdominal pain when running   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #558 of 895 |
I normally experience slight abdominal pain when running and are able
to work it out during my run. Last night, the paid was so bad in my
lower right abdominal that I had to stop.

I have a 1 ½ mile test this Saturday and concerned that I will not be
able to get rid of this pain.

Last night, my routine was light. I did one 300 meter dash, then
rested for about 10 minutes. I then started to run at my normal pace
and only make it ¾ of a mile.

My question is what causes this pain and is there any way that I can
get what ever is in my body causing this out by Friday?

I do know I eat about 8 oz of lunchmeat about 3 times a week. Could
too much sodium be the cause? Could I be to dehydrated before running?

Any suggestion would be very helpful. It is very important that I pass
this test on Saturday.

Joe

Abdominal pain? Do you mean side stitches. How much time is there between your last snack/meal and your run? Joe R <kc7247@...> wrote:I normally...

other potential possibilities would even be a "sports hernia" but that would depend on the symptoms experienced...could be nothing more than just a stitch...

Paul, Thank you for taking the time to explain other potential possibilites. I hate the unknown and at least this gives me somthing to look at and to rule out....
