Hello everyone,
I just wanted to share an experience that I recently had with an
online personal trainer certification company. (AFTA, American
Fitness Training of Athletics, or aftacertification)
I paid the $200 fee and was very disappointed. (I know you get what
you pay for, but it looked impressive --at first.)
First of all, the actual content that you are given access to, looks
like a jumble of notes that somebody cut and pasted together from
various other websites. I actually recognized much of the content
after seeing it published elsewhere on the internet. (I wonder if
they have permission) It also didn't look anything like their semi-
professional home page that lures you in with fancy graphics and
enticing claims. --Aside from looking like a fifth-grader's science
report, much of the content was missing! The pathetic material that
was actually there seemed to have no real organization or pertinence.
They didn't tell me that when they took my money. And when I asked
for a refund I got no response. They're lucky this industry isn't
regulated ... yet!
So in hindsight, I guess I should have checked with the Better
Business Bureau, which claims AFTA has a history of complaints and
dissatisfaction.
--Buyer Beware!
