>> ANNOUNCEMENTS <<
*************************
* Volunteer Grant Writer Sought
CHADD of Northern California is looking for a
volunteer who is interested in learning to write
grant proposals to help fund our "Parent to
Parent" training program. Experience is not
necessary and we can get you started with a lot
of great resources. Send
mailto:parenttoparentinfo@...
* Strattera Package Warning
Eli Lilly has announced that they will update the
product label for its ADHD medication, Strattera,
to communicate new information regarding uncommon
reports of suicidal thoughts among children and
adolescents. Look for the Strattera press release
at: http://www.strattera.com/
* Teens Sought for Panel Discussion
There will be a "Teen Panel" to discuss ADHD at
the LDA-CA state conference in Concord on October
27th. (See http://www.ldaca.org for the full
brochure and program description.) They are
currently recruiting for several more teens to be
on the panel. This is a great opportunity for
your child to develop some public speaking skills
and confidence in front of a group, as well as
learning to advocate for him or herself.
The teens need to participate in a half hour
panel in which they speak about their experiences
of having ADHD, how it has impacted home and
school life, what has been most helpful to them
(meds, therapy, learning specialists,
accommodations), and what they want parents,
teachers, and professionals most to know about
living with AD/HD. The teens will speak from
3pm-3:30pm.
For more information, contact Glenn Gelfenbein. Send mailto:glenn@...
