Hi Bethanne!

I am so glad that you wrote to our Epilepsy Support Group! Thank you for
sharing part of your story.

My name is Sara and I live in Yakima Washington area. I am 49 yerars young
and don't know exactly when I got epilepsy. I have had three times in my
life where my head has been hit hard so it is probably from one of those. I
have two different kinds of seizures: grand mal (generalised) and simple
partials. Most of the time I have good control but when I get too stressed,
tired or an infection, then I have seizures. So I really work on keeping a
balance in my life, with stress reduction (exercise, relaxation tapes,
talking about my feelings) enough rest and taking my meds. I learned the
hard way to do these things for myself-by having lots of seizures.

I have five horses, two dogs,three cats and one bird. My husband and I live
out in the country. Its a lot of hard work but it helps keep me young and on
my toes!

Do you have anyone at your Nursing Home who brings animals to visit? I have
a dog in training for Pet Assisted Therapy. He is a sweet, big, black border
collie/lab dog. His name is Chase.

I hope that the Keppra works out for you. I take tegretol and trileptal.
