faces or voices will become exagerated and disturbing. This can also happen if
I'm listening to music. I don't hear voices or see things that aren't there but
this has become a concern for me. My doctor isn't sure this is related and wants
me to see a psychiatrist thinking he may be able to figure this out. Has anyone
else experienced this?

Hi Karen,
My name is Zo & I live in Vancouver. I have many types of uncontrolled seizures
that have got mildly better with multiple anti-epileptic meds. Your difficulty
sounds similar to something I've experience. When I am feeling a larger more
generalized seizure coming on, I often have smaller seizures where I hear things
in the room get louder. The florescent lights, refrigerator or fans and often
the walls look like they are swaying with wind behind them like window blinds.
It only happens around generalized seizures. You may just not be reaching a
generalized seizure. I've had neurologist hint about psychologist before too.
I'm sure they've questioned schizophrenia at times, but that is obviously not
the same thing. Epilepsy is different for every individual. But I'm not saying
you should get a 3rd opinion... another neurologist might be a good thing.
