Hi Missy,
When Chelsi started on it (10mg twice a day), her seizures actually increased, but they were less severe and in shorter duration. We were also taking her off Diamox at the same time, so that had something to do with it, too. Every time she had another siezure (at this point we were calling them drop attacks, because most of them were pretty quick (seizing for 20 seconds) with little after effects), they would increase her dosage. I was not feeling very good about it because...hello...she was having more seizures. We stayed the course, because as hard as it is, I told myself I had to trust her doctor. They kept increasing and now she's at 20 mg twice a day. She turned into a total zombie to the point that the school asked permission to video tape her to show how she was not participating in class, wouldn't talk to anyone, etc. About the time they were ready to do that, She kind of came in out of the fog and that's where we are today. Still having seizres, amybe every other week. Just had an appt. with the doc and the only change was to take her down on the zonegran because she is so skinny and it is an appetite suppressant. I don't like where we are and don't have an appt. for 6 months. I guess I do what I always do and call the doc after the next on and plead my case...
Take care all,
Sue

We started Kevin on Clobazam in July, within a week we noticed him
being very short tempered (Kevin is usually easy going). He started to
snap at me and his dad, but not knowing why he was angry. His seizures
started to become more noticeable and a second longer. By late August
he would not sleep, was crankier than ever for no reasons, and his
seizures were getting worse.
He started out at 2.5 mg in am, and we went up to 10 mg 2x a day with
no help. Seattle stopped it and here it sits still in its' blister
packs..... we can not use it (dang) was hoping that it would help.
