Have any of you had any experience with Felbatol (felbamate)? Lars seizures have gotten really bad - very frequent with a lot of falls - and his neuro (Dr Holmes at Harborview) wants to give him a try with that as a last resort. He was on it years ago, went three months without seizures and the clinic he was going to (not the same docs that put him on it) apparently was concerned about the warnings that came out about aplastic anemia, polycythemia and liver failure so they took him off of it even though his blood work was ok.
Meds he's tried and is allergic to - dilantin, tegretol, celontin and lamictal. topamax He's also been on (without any problems other than lack of control) - depakote, neurontin Meds he's currently on - keppra, zonegran, lyrica.
Even 2 mg Ativan doesn't always stop a cluster (or "seizure flurry") when he's having a ton of seizures
