On to epilepsy support....of which I could sure use some!
As you may or may not know, my 13 yr. old daughter has epilepsy. We've delt with it since she was 10 months old off and on. Her average # of seizures the last year has been 1 or 2 a month. They're grand mal and last 1 to 4 minutes. Well, my little girl is growing up and wanting her independence. She wants to occasionally be left alone and we have refused in the past. We finally left her alone last saturday for 2 hours while hubby and I went for a golf lesson. She did great...then the next morning she had a seizure (her trigger the last several seizures has been her period). We were full of "what if's". What if we weren't here and she split her head open, what if she choked on her spit, etc. and vowed to not do that again.
But here we are...wondering what other people do. What do you do about being alone?
Thanks for your time!
Sue
