Hi Jessica... I am dealing with similiar issues as I just had a baby and am trying to decide what is "safest" for my child in regards to vaccines.
My sister works for a company that makes vaccines and given her knowledge of the immune system response (she is NOT a doctor) she had suggested that while the doctors want to give multiple shots at once she suggested to try and separate out each shot with at least three weeks in between so that the immune system has a chance to react and recover.
There is a yahoo group - NJVaccinationSupport - that might be helpful in answering your question. There are a variety of people on this group that have worked to educate themselves about vaccinations. I will warn you though that many of them
will encourage you to not vaccinate at all.... others do it selectively or on an alternate schedule. Take any information you get and research it further yourself or talk to a pediatrician that is supportive on a parents choice to vaccinate.
Good Luck!
