Transverse Myelitis is a neurological disorder of the central nervous system caused by inflammation of the spinal cord. It occurs in both adults and children.

THE GOALS of the CSRA Transverse Myelitis Support Group are to provide fellowship and support through sharing our common experiences, to provide educational information, and to open the doors of communication between patients and our local medical community. We also seek to provide online support for anyone within the two state area - SC & GA.

The CSRA is a metropolitan area encompassing five counties within the states of South Carolina and Georgia. All five counties in the area border the Savannah River. They include: Aiken County,SC - Edgefield County,SC - Richmond County,GA - Columbia County,GA - McDuffie County,GA.

If you have TM, or are the caretaker or family member of a patient with TM, and you live in the state of South Carolina or GA - you are invited to join our online group. We are members of the National Transverse Myelitis Association, so I'll need the following information to approve your membership to our group.

Are you currently a member of the National TMA? If not, you will automatically be enrolled and begin receiving their publications(it's free). If you give permission to have your contact information added to the TMA directory, you will also receive a copy of the directory. It is useful in finding other TM patients, as well as doctors experienced in treating TM, in your area. This is optional - so please indicate if you would like to participate in the directory or not.

As soon as I receive your contact information, I will process your request to join our online support group.
