Founded in 2002 by Monique Carpenter and Stephanie Toledo, we are a support group for parents, grandparents and siblings of children born with Congenital Heart Defects with a special focus on Families Raising Awareness of CHD, One Heart At A Time! We offer many resources such as message boards, chat, picture pages and databases. We can help you with finding other CHD Families in your area, with the same condition or treating facility or doctor. We have links to articles that have been published on CHD, locate great CHD organizations, and many more.
We are a family in that we recognize what each other goes through, and only those who have walked in our shoes can understand. We appreciate the support our real life families give us but also the support we receive online is something we hold onto. A unique thing about CHDFamilies is we recognize that CHD is a huge part of lives but not the only thing. That we all have lives outside of CHD and we encourage you to share that here. We have an open discussion forum on our lives but we do ask you refrain from insults and slander of any member. So we welcome you all to our “family” and hope you feel as welcome as we would like you to.
